He's being picky. Any ideas on some new food I could try that he may like?

There is a stray cat that comes to my house alot. I REALLY wnat to take it in but my dad wont let me. (im 18 btw) i could take care of it, we have a big house (also 2 dogs a cat and 2 birds) its so sweet and its REEAALLy skinny, i take cat food out to it everytime its around, my dad thinks its someone on my blocks cat but i dont think it is, and even if it was, who the hell lets a cat get that skinny, and why shouldnt we save it from its "owners". but i still think its homeless. I dont wanna call humane society cuz its an older cat (bout 1-2 years) and it might not get adopted which means theyll kill it, im attached to it (havent given a name tho) well i guess my question is, what do i do, should i try to beg my dad, or let it be?

I am going to purchase two cornsnakes that will share a tank. Is it ok if they are the opposite sex? Will it stress them out or will they be fine? I don't mind if they breed but I am just wondering if there are any risks to their physical or mental health?

I just bought two baby turtles yesterday that I absolutely love. Squirt is roughly the size of a quarter not including appendages and Bullet is slightly larger.
I have a water dish for them and the bedding is reptile bark. They seem to be liking it, althought they aren't eating, which I heard is not uncommon after a big change in a young turtle's life.
I have a water dish that they can access but the problem is they have to climb INTO the water to drink and when they get out they get absoultely COVERED in bark, so excessively they look like little porcupines. ;)

How do I get it so that they aren't covered with bark when they get out of the water?

I've had my tank a little over a month now, and i've been waiting for one of my platys to get pregnant. No luck. Finally i got fed up and went to the pet store to get guppies to add to the tank.

and i actually bought a pregnant one :) yay for me!

any advice on how pregnant she is if her black gravid spot is really small? how will i know when to move her in a breeding box/net?

Should dog shows be banned? They only look at conformation and not health. They also dont judge for performance of the dogs ability for what it was bred for! The best labs are the best water bird retrievers not how good its nose LOOKS! Likewise, the best small companion dogs should be judged on Health, friendliness and loyalty, not the perfect nose or ears for the breed! SHould the AKC and dog shows be banned? As far as I can tell they are ruining the breeds!

worries me is thier's loads of cats around my area and i dont know if they're diseased or what. i wouldnt want 2 lock my kitten inside coz he loves playing with the cats outside One of my neighbours cats have been kicked out the house..lol.
Actually its not funni its sad really. Anyway hes really old with real bad fur and hes got disgusting gums, like black ones... and hes a flea bomb aswell! I think hes got feline leaukeamia. how would i know if he has? and can my cat catch it?

I don't live near a lake or any other body of water but for some odd reason I found a turtle in my yard. I don't know what to do with it but what I did do was put it in a tub that is about 7 times its width wide and 3 times its length wide and the water i put in it can cover it. I also want to know what kind of turtle it is its about 5 by 7 inches long and it has orange spots on its head plz help me I don't want to kill it.

I have a 10 gallon tropical fish tank that has some brown algae growning on the inside walls of the glass - what is it from,and is it normal? What is the best way to get rid of it or prevent it. ... of course without harming my fish. I'm a new fish keeper, the tank is fully cycled, and has been up and running for about 3 months now. thanks!

does anyone know what the symptoms are of fever in a cat my cat is still showing her third eye lid in both eyes

she is eating
and playing
and using the litter box and is not lethargic

i know she went outside when i went to work but was inside when i came back so im not sure is she slept a lot or not

her nose is not runny

only her eye lids are showing and no she dosent have worms..im confused

My tank has been running for over 1 year now so it's not that I didn't let it cycle before putting fish in it. I check the Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and PH levels weekly, they are all fine.
Last week one of my clown loaches died. I didn't think to much of it because fish die. I checked all the levels again, did a partial water change, cleaned the tank and the rocks. Then a couple days later another clown loach died. Again I checked all the levels, partial water change, and made sure there was nothing in the tank.
Today, one of my plecos died. Now I know they are very tough fish and it's hard to kill them so now I'm really confused. I just checked all the levels again and they are fine.
they are being fed enough. I feed them dry flakes daily, with brine shrimp or 4 meat frozen cubes every few days. I put algae pellets in the tank for the 2 plecos every once in a while too to make sure they have enough to eat as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why my fish are dying?

she does this most days and it is worse when she can't find her kitten who is now supposedly independent of her at 23 weeks old or her adult playmate. it is cute but worrying as she will do this hours on end. is she just trying to teach the boys how to hunt/play or is it a psycological problem she couldn't nurse her babies but my vet hasn't got a clue as she is very healthy now considering how ill she has been. sensible advise/answers only

Some breeders treat dogs humanely but all breeders have to struggle with the negative connotation involving their line of work. I want to become a breeder and I know I would be humane to my dogs and puppies but I don't know how to announce to people that I want to be breeder without getting attitude or scowled faces. I don't know how to deal with the negativity.
