Tips:
A 50 gallon Rubbermaid tub makes a great "starter home" for your tort.
Don't use a fish tank for your tort(it's called a FISH tank for a reason )
Buying a mercury Vapor bulb, though expensive, will save you money in the long run.
Keep the warm end in the low 90's and the cool end in the 70's.
Soaking your tort a couple of times a week in lukewarm, chin deep water will keep it hydrated and feeling good.
Don't listen to the instructions that the pet store gives you, they are seldom well informed.
Instead, check out these websites, they have the best information on how to care for your new pet..

Good luck!! Hope that this helps =)
