No. Never ever hit your dog on the nose. You can actually damage her nose that way.
I'm not a big fan of hitting your dogs anyway. I think a rolled up newspaper can work sometimes, if used properly, but more often than not it just turns into yelling and smacking and will have horrible results.
Huskies, contrary to popular belief, are not stupid. They are extremely smart and catch on very quickly. The key is proper training. They have to understand what you are telling them to do. You have to show them.
Telling them to do something then hitting them on the nose when they don't do it is just going to exasperate them and you'll never train them.
Someone else asked for specifics on what you're trying to get her to do. We can be of more help if you give specifics.
Go get the book "How To Train Your Siberian Husky" by Liz Palika. It is an excellent book and will show you how to train your Sibe effectively.

I have Huskies and wish someone had told me the following: Huskies are escape artists. I cemented my fences 2 feet into the ground, raised them to 10 feet and got special locks for the gate and they still get out so often the veterinarians and shelter workers in my area know them, on sight, by name. Only after I adopted them did I read that they were bred to run over 100 miles per day (and need an an EXTREME amount of exersize) and that almost everyone who has them has trouble keeping them in the yard. They are LOUD. They love to sing. At firetrucks, at big rigs, at leaves blowing, the neighbor's cat, the moon, anything. Mine wear shock collars to curb the singing. I thought that once they got the idea of no singing, I could stop with the shock collars. They know which collar shocks, and whether or not there is batteries in it to shock them. Smart, smart, smart! It also has to be on the highest setting because they ignore the lower settings. Ask lots of questions of the people you get it from. Ask if they have any problems keeping it in the yard and if anyone has complained about the noise. You might be able to find a mellow one. Like I said, this is advise I wish someone had given me. Please consider all I wrote.

This definetly won't work, especially with a husky, I know, I have one. Huskies are very stubborn and hitting them will only exaggerate this characteristic. Try getting her used to a routine, Like at the same time every morning jump out of bed and run to let her outside to do her business. Once she's done praise her enthusiastically and give her a treat. Do this throughout the day, but especially 1-2 hrs after feeding her. Hope I've helped.

With my dog, when he does something naughty (only if I catch him in the act) he gets a swat on the butt. Never on the face. I believe that dogs are smart and will put 2 and 2 together: if he does this, he gets a swat. But I also think immediately afterwards he/she should be redirected and shown what he can do. Such as if my dog is chewing on the couch, he gets a butt swat and then I give him his chew toy. Dogs are smarter than people think. I would also do the same with my kids. I'm not saying beat your animal, I'm saying they need to know who is the boss. If you don't like to hit your dog, then bite his ear, it is the same in the animal kingdom, animals need boundaries or they will walk all over you. Oh yeah and I slap my dog on the butt and no he doesn't fear me, he respects me and does everything I tell him to do. Oh yeah and make sure after he gets into trouble and punished, you show him LOTS AND LOTS of love. Just like with your kids. Watch how wolves act and then take on the alpha male role. If you make the alpha male mad, you'll get punished. And its not animal cruelty, I'd say dog fights or mal-nutrition is cruel, not punishment.

She'll learn plenty of things this way - just not what you hoped.
She can learn to be afraid of you and the newpaper
She can learn to shrik away form you
You say you swat her when she doesn't listen - the problm is that she probably doesn't understand. How you like it if someone hit you in the face when you didn't understand something - would you learn?

Noooo!!! Hitting a dog in the face can cause aggression issues! Plus Huskies are big chickens anyway normaly pointing at them and speaking in a seriouse tone, while showing them what they did wrong and how to do it right will teach them. Though it can't be done over night so try to be patient.

no, she's just going to be really scared of newspapers everytime you pick one up.
What are you trying to make her to? If you aren't rewarding good behavior when she's good, then all she knows is you hitting her and she'll never get better. You need to teach her what she needs to do. Spend some time with her, be patient, and teach her. don't just yell at her and hit her when she's bad. How will she know what she is being hit for?
If you gave some examples of "bad behavior" i'm sure everyone on here can give you some pointers of how to help.

No. You need to reward good behavior. When she listens, give her a treat. When she doesnt keep trying until she does what you want. You need to read about dog training. Hitting a dog every time it doesnt listen is only going to make it fear and dislike you.

No. Use positive reinforcement. Dogs don't know what that means when you're hitting them and will not learn from that. You have to teach her first what you want her to do. Dogs don't know sit, stay, down, etc. until you teach them. Don't hit her though because it's unnecessary and pointless.

Eventually, she'll learn to grab the newspaper- or your hand- and bite the crap out of it.
You need professional help, ASAP. Huskies need strong PROPER training or else they can become aggressive. You're one step away from a lawsuit. PLEASE find a REAL trainer and take some classes!
