I have a male red blonde guppy (its white with an orange tail) and I wanted to get 2 or 3 females to breed it with. What color females should i get? Is it possible to get a specific color if the male is orange (if I wanted to get green or blue fry, does the mom's color help determine it)?

The same person who told me to crunch up the fish flakes also said that feeding algae pellets to my pleco would gunk up my 10 gallon tank. Is that true? I mean they obviously didn't know what crunching up the flakes would do.

Okay, I'm going on vacation, is it ok to leave my cat alone for a couple days as long as I leave out food and water for her?(automatic refiller thingys) What do you think I should do?

I have noticed that my cat's nail one one of her paws is discolored. At first glance it looks like she has something stuck in it. (And it's not doo doo,even thought the pics look like it! LOL)But if i look closer it looks more like a rash. It doesn't seem to be painful to her. When i try and look at it she just gets agitated and will pull away. But she walks fine and it really doesn't seem to bother her. But it is pretty gross looking. And i don't want it to be serious of course. I also don't have the extra hundred dollars to take her to the vet. So any info on this would be appreciated. I have posted a couple pictures just incase it will help! Thanks in advance! :0)

That is what i have....i've been very happy with it because it is under the water and it does not make noise at all.

At first I had an emperior then tried an whipser but both had the waterfall effect which was very annnoying since my tank is in my bedroom.

anwways, i think the fluval is very good especially for my 40 gallon tank. (the fluval 4 plus works up to 57 gallons) it is also not very expensive at all i got mine for 50 bucks.

i change 1 out of 2 pads every week and insert a new carbon pad every 2 weeks and the water manage to stay clear.

anyone else with a fluval 4 plus filter or fluval filter?

what do you think of them?

OK, I am just kidding, really.

My real question is about shedding.

We have a Border Collie/ Sheltie mix that we adopted from the shelter a couple of months ago. She is shedding insane amounts of hair (I am pretty sure we can build another dog out of the hair I have cleaned up) and I realize this is normal during summer. I know she will still shed during the winter, but will it be a lot or will it chill out a bit?

I am currently feeding my diabetic cat Hill's Science MD formula canned cat food. He does like it, but then again, he's never been a fussy cat. Any alternatives out there that you've tried and find your cat likes....and doesn't cost half your pay check a month?

I've never had plecos before so I didn't know that I was supposed to wait for about 1 month before putting them in my tank. I asked a fish person at the pet store what I should do to make sure it gets food until there is algae to eat. I was told to finely crunch up the fish flakes so they would sink to the bottom of the tank and the plecos could eat. Well, I did this and now my clear tank is cloudy and has been for a full day. I have a filter, but it's not helping the cloudiness. What should I do and how should I do it?

Hi...trying to hide cats from my landlord who is staying in an apartment downstairs at the moment but the kitties keep jumping on the window sills! I bought a natural cat repellent from pet store yesterday but it didn't work at all. Someone suggested cayenne pepper? Any other ideas?

Ha got ya, who ever clicked on that question and wanted to answer yes, YOU ARE WRONG

Bettas are NOT happy and healthy in a bowl or in a 1 gallon tank

It's your responsibility to your fish to get at LEAST a 2.5 gallon tank with heater and filter for your betta

There is no truth behind that, that a betta is happy in little bowl?!?!?!

Would you like to be confined to a space of 2X2???
Don't think so

Remember one thing, you're going to cut down your betta's life to about 2 years if you're lucky

But if taken proper care it can live up to 7 years!!!!!

So what would you reather have, a happy and healthy betta or one that has a short expected life because of your iresponsibility?????

I have two pregnant platys in my tank, when shall i put them into the fish hatchery?

Also i am going away tomorrow ( for 7 days) , i have noticed that they are pregant for about 2 weeks now (maybe 3) , shall i put them in the fish hatchery when i get back or before i go.

I have a tank of livebearers, my main problem is that i have 6 platies and i noticed that one of my platies has had some of its tail eaten or something else!! None of the other fish in the tank have this problem so i doubt it vey much that it is tail rot> so what is it ?

they are in a pair, have fresh water every day including bath, new toys each week and company from us, have checked for mites none and no sore skin, they have millet most days cannot think of any thing i might be doing wrong please help with any ideas
