Yes, your cat should be fine being home alone, as long as you take the proper steps before you leave to make sure it will be safe.
The automatic food and water dispensers are great. Just make sure that they are not placed so close together that food can fall into the water and make it dirty. I would also place an extra bowl of each in another room. A lot of cats eat more food than usual when they are bored, and she may need more water than usual since it is summer.
Will your house be air conditioned while you are away? Make sure your cat will not overheat while you are gone. It might be wise to leave some ceiling fans on for her.
Make sure all potential cat hazards are eliminated. Before you leave, check to see that all toilets are closed. Even if your cat has never tried to drink out of the tiolet before, she might be bored while you are gone, try it, and fall in. Also, check to see if any of your house plants are poisonous to cats. Again, even if your cat doesnt eat plants right now, who knows what she will do while you are gone. Move any hazardous plants outside or to the garage.
Finally, put an extra litter box out for you cat. Many cats will refuse to use a box if it is full, and Im sure you dont want to come home from your trip to find a "welcome home present" on your bed!
Just use a little common sense before you go, and I think your kitty will be fine. Have a great vacation!

Well it depends on how long a "couple of days" is.
I take care of people's pets when they go away.
The food and water would not be a problem, as you're saying they would be refiller's. The only problem you might have is the litter box. Some cats get real fussy about how much waste is in their litter box, and if it's not cleaned out then they will find some other place to go. Which would be horrible because try getting car urine smell out of anything...phewwww...
Don't know the area you live in, but possibly there are pet care takers that could come in once a day just to take care of kitty.
It's not that expensive. For cats I only charge $10 a day. So for the much, it's worth it so you won't have any hassles (or smells) when you come home.
Good luck :)

If we are only going to be gone for 3, maybe 4 days we will leave our kitty alone, any longer than that and we get someone to check on her. We put enough food out for her and then a little extra and I make sure her water is full and fresh and her litter box is freshly cleaned. Our cat is very good at eating only when she's hungry though. Some cats, especially cats that were abandoned or lived "on the streets," aren't good at this. If you're cat has to empty it's food bowl the second you put food in it, I wouldn't suggest leaving them alone. If you feed your cat once or twice a day and they eat periodically thorughout the day, they should be fine, especially if you notice consistantly that the cat has left a few pieces uneaten. But be prepared for a slightly cold reception when you get home. If your cat is social, they won't like being by themselves, ours doesn't, but she gets over it fast.

Yes it should be fine as long as you leave her plenty of food and water (more water than food), and she has a litter box set up or a way to get outside to go. You may also want to leave her some toys she likes too. Cats are pretty self sufficient when left alone.
I have a cat and she gets left alone at times. Of course she misses us and is glad to see us when we come home.

It looks like there is no real answers. My cat doesn't like me being gone more than a few hours but I'm not sure he knows rather I've been gone an hour or a day so if it is more than two I insist on having someone come in. He would absolutely not do well outside them home as in another place and I think keeping him in familiar surroundings helps reduce stress

I've done it before with no problem but I wouldn't leave my cat alone for more than two days. Even though they can survive longer alone, it's a good idea to have someone come in and check on them. When cats get sick, they tend to go down hill real quick. So having someone check on them frequently as a safety precaution is a good idea.

Our cat lasted 4 days without a checkup, and with checkups from a friend, our cat was fine for 10 days. Some cats will leave messes if left alone... (like crapping on your bed)

If it's no more than a couple of days, she should be fine. Make sure to put back-up water sources in another room or two, should she somehow not be able to access her regular water dish.
Any longer than a couple of days, and it would be a good idea to have someone come in and check on her, at least every other day.

There are LOTS of little old Ladies that would LOVE to have have a nice little cat as a house-guest for just a few days. Find one to take care of the cat in her home.
It is like having a cat, but without all the year to year expenses.
