Do Chameleons make good pets?

Absolutely yes!

you just need to learn what they need and then just provide it . should be no problem if you 1. are literate 2. forget about hard-to-keep species and 3. can afford a properly equipped terrarium. (DIY tank big enough, heating bulb, light bulb/tube with UV rays, timer, thermostat).

Chameleons are just irresistible and so much fun. The ways they change colors in response to their mood, watch you all day long with one of their eyes, cautiously, feed themselves, they are worth having them!

From what I have heard they are very difficult to keep healthy and happy--they have really specific needs for heat, humidity, etc. However, every chameleon I've ever handled has been delightful; they're usually easy to handle and very interested in their surroundings. I'd love to have one if I had the time and money to put into it.
