ok i got a kitten and it's getting to be about 9-10 weeks old, about how old should he be before i start letting him outside on his own, and do i go out there with him to supervise like how do i handle this

we have a vicious dog in our neighborhood, and mildly busy street, the dog isn't out much and is usually well mannered but has chased my older cat, so help me out

Today I gave away my 4 year old cat to a very nice family. I did it because I feel I have too many other animals [2 other cats and a dog] This cat has been with me and my family since she was born and she had her 1st and only litter at my house. There's a part of me that's really heartbroken because I did love her and always will. However, I also feel I need to live a decent life and it's not easy to keep a house if you have too many animals. It's also not easy to take care of them. I took a cat to the vet yesterday and had a 400 dollar bill. I was going to charge a fee but when I visited their home it was beautiful they have no other animals. And the little girls were so excited they had been wanting a cat forever. I am still torn though, I am afraid she won't adjust and will be sad and lost that she's not with us anymore,there's a big part of me that wants to try and get her back and get a kitten for them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We have a 4 month old toy poodle. She rarely cries at anything, except when she hides her bones. She cries whilst they are in her mouth and once hid she starts running around all happy again. Anybody have any idea why she migh do this?

I live three hours away from the nearest hospital for animals, so I can't afford a bundle for the vets or a bundle for gas as far as my money goes, but my cat... My best mouser in fact, keeps moaning. I think he's in pain. He has been vomiting and panting. He looks bloated, and he won't let me touch him. He has this occur monthly and then it will go away. I don't know what could possibly be wrong. The vomit is clear and I don't think that he could be dehydrated. I"m thinking he could have a painful parasite of some kind that is slowly eating him inside out, as it did for about four of our chickens. Although that is the best thing I can possibly think of . Don't let that influence your prediction though. I don't know how to help him. In fact, financially I can't, so can anyone tell me what is wrong and can help me? Thank you!

I have 2 dogs I rescued as pups, and have been trying to identify their breeds so I can get a better idea of any possible disposition and breed 'quirks'. Teri has a huge head, shaped like an American Pit Bull's head, and a broad chest. His coloring is like a golden lab, except for a very light dusting of black around his nose and muzzle. He has black splotches on his tongue, and dew claws on all four legs, but the ones on the hind legs dangle loosely. Out of five dogs, Teri is the only one with rear dew claws. He whines a lot, especially when crated, but when he barks or howls, he bays like a hound dog. He has a very sweet, shy, gentle and loving disposition, even towards the two cats and other dogs (most of the time), and usually won't fight back too hard when Ralph attacks him (both have been neutered), but today a scuffle turned more serious and left Ralph limping, with a sore, bleeding foreleg, now swollen at the knee joint. Ralph also drew blood, but it doesn't look as serious.

I use Oceanic Natural Sea Salt Mix in my saltwater aquarium which is sold in pre-measured 5 gallon packs. How do I maintain salinity in my water if I have to change it every couple of weeks?

I live in hawaii and the conditions are perfect for breeding but how do i breed them in a 10 gallon tank do i need to take out everything lik rocks and plants. Do i need to add anything new to the tank?
currently in the tank are
one piece of drift wood 12" long
Anubius nana plant
sword plant
aqaurium rocks
a 5-15 gallon filter
i have a softer fiter that goes in the water and not on the tank
so what do i need to add or take out to make breeding possible?
oh and i have other fish like 3kuhlii loaches 2 albino Corydoras and like 10 ghost shrimp

i have a 55 gallon tank i have 3 african cichlids 1 alge eater they have all been at very bottom of tank will not move hardly even when i feed them i keep my water at 80 degrees every thing test right but someone threw a couple of pennies in my tank ive taken tghem out cause i heard copper kills fish well if anyone could help me let me know if this is normal behavior or are they dying thanks

I know mothwe fish can eat there babies. I put it into another tank. Only its a warm water fish and i dont have another heater. Plus i have no other stuff for a new babie to hid in until i can transfer it. What should i do?

I just took a closer look at one of my aquariums.... and I noticed that there are lots of tiny little worm like things moving around in there. They are too small to take a picture of them.
It's a 5 gallon with a divider that houses 2 male Bettas and one snail. I have real plants in there and real rocks....
My question is, Is it normal to have those little boggers moving around in there?
If it's not normal, what can I do to get rid of them?

I am wanting to buy Class A or ACU outfits for my dog. I am going to enter him into some contests for the Lions club and wanted him to wear these b/c my man is in the army. I thought it would be really cute to get a dog costume of my mans Class A's and then have him buy some of his awards so I could actually put them on the dog costume but I can't find any. Even online. Recently, my dog Skylar tore her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). The vet said that the surgery will cost anywhere from $700 to $2,000. I'm a poor college student living off campus and I need a way to be able to afford this surgery. I simply can't neglect my puppy but I just don't know what to do. If anyone knows of a way to pay for this or a cheap legitimate place that will do the surgery, I'd greatly appriciate it. I live in spokane, washington by the way. Thank you.

My sheepdog is six and I got him as a rescue two months ago, he has next to no muscle mass on his legs and requires that someone helps him to get up from laying down, I had him x-rayed at the vet and they said he has arthritis in his back, he weighs 77# but should weigh more like 90+#, he also leaks pee now and again, what could be wrong with him ? or is the problem arthritis, would that cause the loss of muscle ?

I just got a bearded dragon and I want to post a question on beardeddragon.org. I just made an account but I don't know how to put a picture on my signature (people have these really cool signatures with their beardies on them how do I do that?) or how to post a question or how to do anything on there. Can someone give me some help?

the question I wanted to ask was that I noticed a large bump behind each of his hind legs, and I remember reading somewhere that that means he is sick or something. What does it mean? (He is a little on the thin side, he was underfed at one one of his owners, I got him from a rescue shelter.

Well I admit I am not an animal person. I'm scared of most of them, and I'm just plain old not a fan of them. But I wish I were.

In my first marriage though, we had a LOT of cats. And I liked them a lot, but once I moved on...I never wanted to have cats again...but my kids love animals especially my 7 year old son, and I thought a cat would be better than a dog.

Well today, my husband and I adopted a beautiful long hair tabby cat, and she really is a sweetie. She's two years old, already spayed, has all her shots, and you can pretty much pick her up and she'll stay on your lap while you pet her. The only thing that I am nervous about is, she hasn't eaten or drinken anything all day...(we've had her about 6 hours)...and when I put her in her litter box, she just laid in it for about 1/2 hour.
She's isolating herself too...and obviously it's her first day, and she's scared and nervous...and she may just be lazy and a loner...but when will she eat?
