I have a 10 gallon tank. I had 3 ghost shrimp and now I am down to one. In the tank I have 2 neon tetras, one giant danio, two chinese algae eaters, a swordtail and a black skirt tetra. Now the shrimp are as big as the fish so how would they eat them? I just wake up and poof another one is gone. What gives?

My pit bull attacked my land lords dog last night. He actually tore down the fence to get to him and my husband had to choke him to get him to let go of the other dog. He never shows aggression towards humans, only to other dogs and we have another dog which is a Chihuahua and I'm scared he might do this to him. We are exploring the possibility of giving him up. Do you think we should put him to sleep or adopt him to someone else? I would hate to adopt him out and he does something bad because then that person will have to pay. But his behavior is becoming a liability for me, I would hate for him to kill another animal or a person. What do you think?

I have a 3 ft tank and i have had gravel in but i find it really hard to keep clear of fish poop and junk, So i now keep it bare bottom with some big rocks and plants, So i was thinking would sand be ok to put in with feshwater fish? And what kind/type should i get, And is it easy to keep clean,
And the most important question:::

When i syphon it to take all the poop/junk out will the sand not get sucked up? And if it does then how do you clean it?

And it needs to be sand that is available in the UK as that is where i stay.

She is not one to drink a whole lot of water usually, but since last night she's been drinking a lot of it.....maybe every 15 mins or so....I'm feeling like I don't really need to be worried, cause I want her to be getting fluids, but I wasn't sure if there would be anything to be alarmed over if i've seen her drinking increase

I've had a 10gal tank for about 7 weeks now, Silly me thought it cycled about 2weeks ago, but I think it is now, Nitrates are good but ammonia is up just a little..50. Now my tank is cloudy and Ive lost 2 fish.(Ive done water changes) #1 When do I change the filter for the first time? #2 Is the cloudiness the "good bacteria", thus I shouldnt worry about it too much? #3 Should I save the filter once I change it, so that I will have a source of "good bacteria" or will the new filter accumulate the same good bacteria?? Sorry if the questions seem lame, I'm a new enthusiast. Thanks in advance.

I have both a female and male German Shepherd I have bred them both once before and had no bother we worked out the dates and she had them when we expected her to.

This time we worked her dates out to be that she was due on the 29 June but there is still no signs of her having them yet.

She has been heavily licking herself for the past 3 to 4 days with heavy breathing and she is always walking around and not settelling anywhere.shes been feeling sorry for herself and her stomach is really hard.we saw a yellow kind of browny mark on her covers and we dont know if that is discharge. But we have noticed that she has been tensing her stomach up which she started doing today.

My legs are covered in scratches. I walk across the room or try to exercise and he grabs my leg. sometimes he just grabs it with his paws but others he bites me. Also there are times I am sitting on the floor and goes for my arm.

He has been declawed and nuetered. He is probably nine months old.

Hi. I've just bought home a 7 week old Jack Russell and having read up on feeding puppies many sources say to "soak the dry puppy food" - but none of the say exactly how to do this.
Do I soak it in water (warm?cold?), How much liquid do I soak it in? How long do I soak it for?
If anyone could give me any advice, it would be most appreciated.

Well, she's aging, i think around three years old, she's generally a carefree cat, I let her roam around the neighbourhood as she pleases. She's given birth around 3 times or so, her latest batch just came out. Since then, she's always meow-ing all over the place, she looks tired and a little rough around the edges. What can I do to perk her up, as in, is there a 'spa' or something where I can send her to for a little pick up? Note, I live in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, so, I'd prefer something close to my area.

I have really been questioning myself with this decision. A few months ago my 13yr old cat was diagnosed with diabetes. We followed normal protocal and started her on insulin (lantis) after a couple months we did not notice a big difference and the vet concluded she was insulin resistant. Already in the hole a couple thousand dollars for treatments and test the vet now wants to go back and do some of the same test again to see why she is insulin resistant. I am out of money and my cat does not seem to be happy any more. She use to me so full of life and so active now she spends the entire day laying on the tile floor in the bathroom. In addition she drinks so much water she is often urinating all over the house and in some instances I have had to bath her because she is resting in her own urine. Her breathing has gotten bad but she continues to eat constantly, in fact she has an enormous appetite and she has maintained the same weight. I am confused on what to do?

I started a birdlist 4 days ago. I did keep one until I was about 14 . It got lost since then. I believe I had around 200. In the last 4 days I've seen 23 different species. all from my front porch I should add I live in a wooded area so what Isee most are woodland species.

I feed them every other day like I was ordered from the place I got them from. I got three tetras, all look alike. But when I feed them they all swim so fast I'm not sure who's getting food. I dropped 4 pieces this morning but for all I know the same fish could have eaten all of the food. Any ideas how to keep track and make sure I feed each and every one of them?

Previous question:
hi there, the wind today is strong, and a friend of mine found a baby swallow fell down from trees near his classroom. He afraid tht it would die of coldness so he brought it home. Now, he put it into an opened box, cushioned with soft cloth. The baby swallow didnt chirp or call at all since it fell down, he checked the swallow, there's no any injuries. Now the problem is, it doesnt want to eat anything, he tried apples, worms...but it jst doesnt respond... ...
I've read a similar Q&A, and we are worrying will it die of hunger or its parents wont recognise it by tmr...as he found it in school...
so, what should we do?

thanks~~
and hope it'll survive...

***thanks for the answers friends

but we are living in Malaysia...there's hardly a vet clinic or even a rescue center here... ...
how?it has fully developed feathers. some students said they saw a swallow flew into the class n flew away abt 200m ,wonder it was it..but even water with syringe it also deosnt respond

I have Stello D' Oro daylilies by my front door. My mini dachshund loves to grab the deadheads that have fallen to the ground and eat them. It is nearly impossible to always keep him away or to get them all picked up continually. Will they hurt him in any way?

I got the runt of the litter because her markings are soo perfect but she wasn't much smaller than the other pups. Both of her parents were about 30 lbs, and on the bigger side for bostons. Angel is 9 months and only weighs 12 lbs. She looks like a chihuahua! She does not have worms, and I feed her more than I am supposed to but shes like a miniature boston. Does this have anything to do with her being the runt?

Ingrid Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, told Time magazine's "Swampland" blog: "If you wouldn't strap your child to the roof of your car, you have no business doing that to the family dog!"

Can anyone see why dogs are more important than human kids ?

Is there anything wrong with having a tank large enoguh to fit 8 fish in and put them in. Putting them in on the same day. Also you can get chimicals like water safe and you can use a gravel cleaner to clean the tanks stones. Do you use both of these products while the fish in the tank.

Well, I live in the country, so the only car to worry about is my own and visitors.

However, my kittens seem to enjoy sitting below the car or on the wheels, and for me, getting out of the drive is a two-man operation, because when I start the engine they just do't move, and when Im about to move off, they even run back in again! How can I make them aware of this danger?
