You are taking things way out of context. People come first, but common sense comes with everything. I work with wildlife and I know. PETA is a good (?) organization whose heart is in the right place. However, their head is not. They have become fanatic's, who really just don't see the whole picture. Kids come first - I take them on wildlife tours everyday and teach the good - not PETA radical standards.

No, i'm sure dogs aren't more important than humans, it's just that a lot of people really do love animals and love to speak out for them when they can't speak for them selves.
I have been an animal lover all of my life but have found that the peta organisation is very over the top.
I think they are just as extreme as people who are cruel to animals.
Actually considering the last 24 hours in London, I can say that I've never heard of an animal planting a bomb!
So there is probably a good argument that animals are probably a lot more loved than these 'terrorists'
I wouldn't mind strapping some of these extremists to the roof of my car!!

It's not like we think animals are more important than kids, but some people love animals and would like to change the world toward them. There are so many animal abusers these days and there are kid abusers, we would definitely like to take the kids abusers out first. It's just the way of life.

I have been an animal rescuer for over 30 years. I have worked in veterinary clinics, kennels, S.P.C.A & other animal shelters. In my opinion, it isn't that animals are more important than kids but that ALL life is important. We are all connected...plants, animals, people all connected to one another through Mother Earth.
And no, you have no business strapping a child or an animal to the top of your car.

As a mom of 3... sons.. human that is .. and 3 barking kids..and 4 meowing kids.. I can say there are far more times that I enjoy being with my fur kids... does this mean I don't love my sons.. NOT at all.. it means the fur kids don't talk back.. they do what they are told to do...
I like my fur kids more than most of my extended family members... they love unconditionally.. they never fail to greet me at the door.... and are always happy to see me.. even when they know they have been naughty....
The joys that fur kids can add to one's life.. are immeasurable... so are the sorrows..just as with human kids... they are and should be part of the family.. and anyone that is NOT willing to see them as such.. should not have fur kids... or feathered kids... you have to love them unconditionally as well....
I do not think they are more important... I think they are equally important to those of us that take the time to love and nurture them.. Just as with our offspring.

there are definitely plenty of freaks who don't give a crap about humans. think about those people who dug up that coffin to blackmail the people who ran the guinea pig farm (its a British news story if you are american):

"Yes" to your last question.
Animals aren't murderers, rapists, arsonists, liars, cheats, thieves, power trippers, etc.
