I have Stello D' Oro daylilies by my front door. My mini dachshund loves to grab the deadheads that have fallen to the ground and eat them. It is nearly impossible to always keep him away or to get them all picked up continually. Will they hurt him in any way?

Day-lily leaves and flowers are edible, but pick only from plants you know have not been sprayed with insecticide or fungicide. As far as your doxie eating them I am not sure I would allow him/her to eat a lot of it. The other Lilly's are poisonous so do not allow him/her to eat them. Have you tried spraying them with a deterrent such as bitter apple? I would try that. Or even a stay away type spray. But we as people can eat them on salads and do.

Lilies of any kind are toxic to dogs and cats. Any part of the plant can do serious harm to your dog. I'd find a way to either mover the plants or do a better job of picking up after them. Keeping the dog away is a job for you too.

Asian Lily, Calla Lily, Day Lily, Easter Lily...
I wouldn't take any chances. Take him out the back door until they have finished blooming. Better yet dig them up and give them to a friend without dogs.

Yeah. The bulbs can kill them. Other than grass, plants of any kind are a bad idea.
