He did used to crash into stuff, and his longer tail feathers would break, and eventually fall off. now he has no long feathers. I know they'll grow back, but is it healthy for birds to lose that many tail feathers?

I just finished cleaning my tank and I saw that my ONE snail that I bought 3 or 4 months ago was floating on the top. Then, when I looked at the bottem of the tank, there was a snail in there!! It is very very small. What happened?

sometimes the bubbles are quite large and other times they are small like froth. I prefer them smaller and it is better for the fish, anyone know how to keep them like this?

I just think it's funny how us reptile enthusiasts have created the schism between those of us who prefer sand based substrates and those of us who prefer non-sand substrates. I mean, some people take it really seriously! I feel that both types of substrates have their pros and cons. Tile is nice because it's easy to clean and there is no risk of impaction, but without the ability to burrow some reptiles become stressed. Sand is nice because the reptile is free to burrow, but a little bit harder to clean, plus there is that risk of impaction (though it hasn't ever happened to any of my herps whom are all kept on sand). I dunno, I just though it was funny how we're so concerned for the well being of the animal that we debate each other on topics like this (still, it's good that we care). So, my question (yes, I have one!) is this: Which type of substrate do you use for your reptile, what type of reptile(s) do you have, and why do you use the substrate that you do?

I just bought a Cow Fish and im wondering if a Green Mandarin Goby would be a good tank mate for him. If not, are there any other fish that would be good partners? I know about the toxins that the cow fish give out, so im looking for a small calm partner that wont stress the cow out.

I have 2 neutered male cat/kittens (not sure they are classified as not kittens yet). They are 10 and 10.5 months old and weigh about 10 and 11 lbs respectively. Are these normal weights? I am concerned that they don't seem to have grown close to "full grown cat" size yet even though they are only a couple months from being considered adults.

I have four parakeets and one hamster. I've been getting bug bites all over me, and I looked online and my bites look just like flea bites http://www.lifespan.org/adam/graphics/im... Also, none of my family members have been getting these bug bites, and I have four cats, with flea and tick products applied to them already. I just today sprayed flea stuff on my hamsters, but I want to know.....
1. Is there a way to tell if I have fleas in my room.
2.Can mites from parakeets give me thoes bites?
3. Can that bite be from another insect? If so pics would be helpful.

We just moved to a new house and my cat (a fixed male) uses his litter box, but also pees in other places - like on my bed, on pillows and blankets. Is he marking? I have 3 other cats that are not doing this. How can I get him to stop??

I have two ferrets and they we raised eating ferret food (usually Marshall brand) I have recently started buying them cat food because the ingredients are very similar. I am wondering if it is bad for ferrets to eat cat food? They have down fine since eating...still VERY active and they love the food. If there any health risks?

Ok, I have a betta in a 10 gallon tank with a heater, air pump, and filter. I want to add 2 type of fish in with my betta: neon tetras and cory catfish. I want to know how many of the two species would be appropriate for the tank. I've heard 4-5 neon tetras with 2 cory catfish would work and then I heard 6 neon tetras with 3 cory catfish would work. I'm going to the pet store today to buy them so I would really appreciate your help.

I have a 4 year old gelding that I am working on teaching showmanship, but he has no idea how to respond to pressure. He was imprinted at birth, which makes him almost dead quiet and beyond easy to work with, but when he was imprinted I think they went overboard and made him completly desensitized to pressure and pain. I seriously think that someone could beat the crap out of my horse with a wooden board and he would just stand their and not even blink (of course I never would do this)

I am trying to teach my horse to pivot in showmanship (I know how to do this, have taught many horses showmanship before), but he will not move away from me in turning. I walk towards his shoulder and he stands, so I will put pressure on his shoulder until he moves, and he will just stand there not moving. Any ideas on how to get the idea through to my horse that pressure is something to move away from, not just ignore?

He isn't being at all stubborn, he just doesn't get it.

My brother and i got 6 new fish aboout 3 days ago. These are our only ones and there are 3 tiger barbs,2 assorted platies, and 1 zebra danio. The past two days they have been doing good and have been lively but today i noticed that they are acting strangly. The danio is spinning around and stuff and a couple of the barbs are sticking their nose area out of the water. I think one of the barbs got into a fight with some other fish because its bottom fin is all chewed up and they have been fighting. We tried to put an air blower thing in but i dont think its helping and we have to get a new filter cartridge but the question is what do you think is wrong? Do u think that it is something to do with the conditions of living or fighting. Please explain too. Thnx.
