He probably needs a much larger cage . Iguanas get very large and even young ones need a lot of floor space with a shelf or tree to climb up on . You may also need to check the cage temperature . It should be 80-85 F degrees with a basking area of 90 F.With out knowing how old he is , how long you have had him , if hes use to being handled , are there other pets close by him , etc . its hard to tell what is causing his stress . Every iguana I have seen in captivity has been in to small of a cage . The larger the better ! Preferably his own room with a baby pool .If he is not use to being handled everyday they will get aggressive . They also tend to just like their owner or care taker .

Well, iggys can be stressed if their enclosures are too small (they need huge enclosures--at least 1 & 1/2 times longer than they are and even taller). They need a place to bask under a heat lamp at the right temp, and a UVB source that is correct for them for about 12 hours a day. They can get aggressive during breeding season. Go to www.reptilerooms.com or www.anapsid.org for more iggy info.

how big is it? If it is an adult, it has reached sexual maturity and there is nothing you can do. Iguanas are not good "pets". They become aggressive and can do serious damage.
