whenever im fishing for catfish at the lake i normanally go to there are like a million turtles in there. so when im fishing they always go for my bait or get snagged. and i've had some pretty close calls of getting my finger bite off by one of them trying to get the hook out of and once a guy fishing newt to me caught a turtle and when he was trying to get the hook out the turtle actually bit a hole in his pants...anyone else hate turtles

i just got a new oscar fish yesterday....he seems to be very mellow and swims to the bottom of the tank and just beaches himself and gets up... he does that repeatedly...he seems to just sink to the bottom as if he is going to die...is this normal in an oscar?

My 1 Year Old Weimaraner who is in Heat for the Second time started panting excessively last night and is still doing so--- She urinated in the House this morning--- she couldn't wait to go out (also not like her) and she feels very warm. She is stillactive--- and eating--- seems normal in every other way--- should I be worried???

I have cats and a dog. They all get fleas. They don't go very long without having them. They don't like baths. It's pretty well impossible to give them one. I've used flea combs. I've used the meds the vet gave me. They never go away. Is there something else I can do?

I have a litter of 8 kittens who are 7wks old.

My first concern is that there are only 4 of them that will eat kitten food. The other 4 will only eat if I give them cooked chicken or tuna and still nurse from their mum pretty much most of the time. They are supposed to be going to their new homes when they are 8wks old so what can I do to encourage them to eat instead of constantly nurse?

Secondly, in the last few days some of the kittens have been sick. I spoke to the vet on the phone and he said that I could just wait and see how they do in the next 24hrs and if all is ok then they should be fine. Well the kitten that was initially sick was fine within about 2hrs. Over the next few days I had another few get sick but again all were fine with in an hour or so. Today the 2nd kitten who had been sick has started to be sick again. She is also one of the kittens who doesn't eat kitten food. I have also noticed she is also having a little bit of the runs.

What can you do for a puppy that is constipated. ... hes about 3 weeks old and hasnt pooped..I have called the vet and they said to rubb it with warm water to stimulate it but its not helping you can see him trying to poop but nothing and its bulging out his stomach and is butthole and ntohng... do you think his butthole is closed???

Hes a pure breed chocolate lab if that helps...

He whistle too much now. I work from home, so everytime he sees me (the computer is 7-9 feet away from him) he keeps whistling an di cant get work done. i have to be sitting RIGHT next to him to get him to be quite. and he does this ALL day. then if i have to get up to go and get something or to go bathroom he whistles to the point where my ears are ringing. even now he's whistling and im only 7 feet from him. i already played with him for 15 min. (its barely 9:30) and he woke me up with his LOUD whistle which i could hear upstairs at 9. how do i get him too spot? (WITHOUT having to pet him every time cuz right when i stop, he continues to whistle)?

This morning my 3 month old kitten fell from our landing upstairs (he likes to weave around the railing and walk on the outer edge). I didn't see him fall, but I heard him fall, and when I came downstairs his nose was bleeding! We immediately rushed him to the vet, and noticed that he was limping and his right paw was hurting him. The vet said that he likely bumped his nose/paw on the way down, and that nothing seemed broken. He said he'd probably be okay in a couple days, but to take him in on Monday if he was still limping.

My question to you guys is how can I help him feel more comfortable? He's asleep under one of our big chairs, and is seeming to want his space (which is understandable). He hasn't eaten anything since the fall either. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can help our baby feel better? Thanks!!!

Also, do you think he's learned not to go near the landing?

I was wondering what things i will need and what things i should watch out for with a cat. I just want a basic cat, nothing fancy and expensive, the best pets dont have to be pricey. I work 6-2pm shifts and dont go out much so the cat wont have to be on its own for too long. I also have neighbours that dont mind to look out for it if i need someone to. I am not sure about getting a kitten, perhaps a cat that has lived past the young years and is going to be a little easier in handling and house training. Thanks.

When I woke up this morning, I saw my bronze cory catfish swimming around more actively than usual. When I observed him up close, I saw that he had tan spots on the front part of his body. He's not losing color, because they're popping out a millimeter or so. It can't be fungus, because fungus is white. Any idea what this disease is?

how the hell do animals know how to get home. i've had a cat get "cat napped" and was taken about 4 miles away and about two days later show up at home. then we also had a dog before that when we were in the mountains ran off and we couldn't find it. and also a few days later he showed back up at home. how do they know how to get home? lol it's not like they have a map or know streets

I have a small algae eater (i would say about an inch long) and I cant find it anywhere! I have 4 fish, including the algae eater, in a five gallon tank, and they are all doing perfectly fine. I've looked everywere for the fish and i cant seem to find him. I dont think he could be dead, but i have gravel rocks and my family was thinking that he might be buried underneath them somehow. In my tank, i have this little car that is suppposed to look like it has algae and is all broken and stuff, and a tall, fake plant. I also have gravel rocks on the bottom. Ive seen him hiding on the little tube that sucks water into the filter, along the walls of the tank, and also on the car.

What is it with these dog breeders who do not know things like how long the gestation period is, how to qualify a false pregnancy from a real one, if the dam has any milk, what to do if she doesn't.

These are things (and there are a bunch more) which should be 'known' BEFORE the important decision is made to put a litter on the ground. What on earth is going on here?

I have moved my guppies from a 10 gallon to a 50 gallon. I am breeding guppies to start nice strains; and the other guppies become food for convicts and oscars of friends and family. Has anyone tried this? And does it work as it says? I just really cant afford the 120.00 a month for frontline. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. I see alot of people buy it. But i dont want to be wasteing my money if it doesnt work.
