I have a male cat i got 2 weeks ago and he isn't castrated (YET). He has this really oily, greasy area from teh base of hise tail to about 2-3 inches down. It gets matted really easy, I have tried to bath him with Dawn dish deterergent after I had tried cat shampoo ( I wated 3 days to do this) I even blew dried him but it just doesn't get any better.
I am a professional pet groomer and I know I have gotten all the soap out but nothing seems to work.
What can be wrong or is this ok??
I have been grooming professionally for about 15 years and I've never seen anythign like this.
Please help

my cat is a year and a half old, smudge and she just started hating going in our living room, if you carry her in and hold her she is fine, if you put her down she runs for the house door. when i bring her in my room which she always sleeps with me she growls staring with HUGE eyes at a certain corner.. i dont know what is wrong with her, it worrys me though.

We lost our cocaktiel in April and now I have someone that says she has found him. He was not banded.
Our Cockatiel was on the ZuPreem bird food and he hated the yellow bananas. Not only would he not eat them but he would throw them out of his cage. The "Found" cockatiel is doing the same thing.
Our Cocaktiel use to hiss if we picked up a handtowel in the kitchen (we used a small baby blanket to clip his wings). Well we tested this bird out and again he does the same thing.
I haven't seen him in person yet but I've heard him singing over the phone and he doesn't make the same sounds are ours did. But, I've seen pictures and again, he looks just like ours.
My husband is being difficult and doesn't think it's worth driving a couple of hours to see if he's ours. I do. What do you guys think??? I'm unsure but I have to go see if it's him.
Age, Sex, same as ours
By the way, I have a trip planned on Sunday to go and see him

lately, after the arrival of the new litter of husky puppies, my malamute has been showing aggression towards them. The mother of the puppies tries to protect them but each time she fails, she just walks away, leaving the puppies there. what should i do?

I have been breeding my dogs for 3 days now. She is in her heat but everytime they do it they don't lock. He gets as big as he is supposed to, he swells inside but they don't lock!!! I have even held them together. I have done everything I can think of it's just not working. Just wondering what the possible problems could be? Also, is there anything I can do to get them to lock?
In response to some of your answers...My dogs are pugs. I am just beginning to breed but I have taken courses and read up A LOT before doing this! The over-population of animals are not breeders faults, it is people who take on pets who shouldn't. People who get rid of thier animals over stupid reasons. Puppy mills, and places like that I agree are disgusting, but don't blame legit breeders like me!!!

My mom's Shih Tzu has some serious flea issues, and I heard that fleas don't like the smell of lemon, but we don't have anything lemon scented. We're currently using flea shampoo and powder, but if there's any household items we can use to help, it would be nice to know about it...

He is acting great feeling great and healed. I noticed that only one of his testicles has reduced it's size but the other is still about the same. Is this normal? How long will it take for the other to shrink if at all. Thank you for your help.

I have 2 weimaraners. We have had are first weim, Bullet, for 5 years now and he has always been very wild and out of control. Don't get me wrong, we love him its just whenever we go out in the backyard he completly freaks out and starts biting and jumping on the kids. Inside, he eats off the counters and runs over the whole house until we put him in his kennel. Our other weim, Cam, is new to the family being here for only a week. When we saw him the first few times he was calm and sweet but now that he's at our home he is completly crazy! Jumping and barking! If you have any tips please help!

I know there is no real answer but my mom died a month ago and my cat has been extremely clingy this past week, always sleeping in my bed with me and hardly ever leaving my side. She always used to be like this with my mom, but never with me. I know it could be argued that she's trying to make nice with me so I would feed her, but my dad always feeds her and i never do, and she's not acting clingy with him at all.
Is it possible that my cat is feeling lonely or can sense that my mom has died? Or perhaps she can sense my sadness and wants to comfort me? I know most philosophers maintain that animals are like machines and do not have emotions, but I believe this can prove otherwise.

I am a professional pet sitter. I'm just curious as to what other pet sitters charge for services- professional or not. I know that what I charge is pretty standard but sometimes I see amateurs charging a lot less than what the time and services are worth.

If you do pet sitting or dog walking, what are your rates?
