I have 2 weimaraners. We have had are first weim, Bullet, for 5 years now and he has always been very wild and out of control. Don't get me wrong, we love him its just whenever we go out in the backyard he completly freaks out and starts biting and jumping on the kids. Inside, he eats off the counters and runs over the whole house until we put him in his kennel. Our other weim, Cam, is new to the family being here for only a week. When we saw him the first few times he was calm and sweet but now that he's at our home he is completly crazy! Jumping and barking! If you have any tips please help!

Call a dog trainer and take these two to obedience classes. In the meantime, wear them out - even if it takes three hours of hiking or something. A chuckit has worked wonders with keeping my dog calmer.

Good luck!

Weimaraners are very active & can be hyper dogs, they can get out of control if they do not have firm leadership (by firm I dont mean physical of course). Naturally, the one dog will learn habits from the other.
For now they should not be off leash, even if you have a fenced yard. You need to take them out and keep them away from the kids by being on the other end of the leash. This will give them leadership. When inside the house, attach a small guide leash to their collars (long enough for you to grab hold of, short enough the dogs won't trip on it) This should be used whenever the dogs are out of hand. For example, if they get up on the counter, grab the leash, give the "off" command and pull them to the floor. If you are only yelling commands at them they will probably just blow you off, but the leash gives you more control. This is going to take alot of time however &
Honestly, it sounds like you have your hands full! I would contact an obedience trainer, and rather than go into a class, have them come into your home so they can work on the specific problems related to your children & the dogs behaviour. If you dont curb their behaviour now it is only going to get worse & you will have two unhappy & unruly dogs on your hands.

get a good trainer. teh pupis and will pick up the habits of the older one.
They both need some really good training.
Please don't think I'm putting you down but as you said the older one is really crazy and somewhat not controlable and the pup just like a younger child will start doing what an older child or the adults do.
So if you don't get both trained it's going to be useless.
Good Luck

Why did you get another when you can't control the 1st one? This was not a very wise decision. You need some extensive training for both & don't put it off. It's obvious that there is no control in your home & you need to change that immediately. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to return Cam to the breeder until you get your home in order.

He may be nervous from his new environment. Just give him two weeks to adjust.

But if he does not adjust within that time span, definitely contact a dog trainer to deal with them.
