That just seems to contradict to me at least...I mean it would be like a homeles shelter that only houses white people? Not be drastic but you get my drift.......

We recently brought our dog to the vet for his allergies (he's been on Benadryl for about 6 months) and since he has not responded to the antihistamine treatment the vet suggested putting him on a food trial. We have to switch to a food that is completely (down to the last ingredient ) different from any food we've give him in the past. We have only fed him Iams puppy and Science Diet puppy dry food. I am looking for any suggestions on dog foods that have a short list of ingredients (less filler stuff) and don't contain chicken, beef, corn, or the other really common dog food ingredients. I am also willing to cook for my dog if necessary so any links to good sites with recipes for dogs would be great too!! Any suggestions at all would help me start looking for a healthier food source for our dog. There are so many foods out there that a few starting points would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

What is the easiest way to keep flies from biting my dogs ears in the summer?

They're driving him crazy and I've tried spraying him with "Off" but all he does is roll in the dirt and rub it away. I've tried rubbing Vaseline on them but, same thing, he gets it all dirty and rubs it off. He's afraid of water so I cant spray him with the garden hose to try to help...

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!

I would like to adopt a small breed dog. He/she would be a house dog. There are 4 children in the household all are 10 and over except for the 7 year old. We have 2 outside dogs at the moment a lab and a husky but they are allways outside. The dog would have to be good with cats though because we have a house cat. Also, we dont really want a dog that barks or yips at everything in site expecially when someone knocks at the door, we allready have problems with our lab barking at everything. We would be able to groom it everyday and are able to provide daily exercise. Do you know of any small breed dogs that would be good for our household??

I would like to know if I can use craft store plastic only (no metal wires or other material on/in them) is ok for a tank. The ones at the pet store are limited and expensive, small too. I have some beautiful all plastic plants that I'd like to use in my tank but would like to know the details of if it would harm the tank. I'm sure there 'might' be a different plastic chemical makeup for them than aquarium ones, but could I? I have a large tank (150 gal bow front). I have silk plants I've used for years by light bleach washing to rejuventate them (process does not remove color!!!) and a mix of live, but I need some tall fillers. Anyone tried this before? I know it sounds weird, but my cat likes it. He likes it when you smack him on the butt. He'll start purring and cooing and he'll start rolling around on the floor. Is this normal? It's almost like its a "cheap thrill" for him.

Where I am located, all the stores sale nothing but crap dog food, like pedigree. Therefore, it seems that I can only cook something for my dog. If I cook my dog chicken and white rice (a meal which will have no salt or fat), would it be a healthy meal for him?

He is an 8-year-old, male Pomeranian, is not obese, and has no health issues.

I sometimes have to go overnight on business but my cat is not a house cat and yet I need to make the house available to her for various reasons. There are all kinds of critters, at least 3 different racoons, at least 1 opossum, other cats, etc. that also use it. How can I make it accessible to her without the other critters?

I am thinking of getting a 10-20 gallon fish tank and I think that I'm going to get exotic fish in it instead of just the plain old goldfish. I was thinking some fish along the line of Oscars and Gouramis but it seems like every time I get a gourami it just dies. I needs to know a combination of fish that you like or think I should get! and any information about caring for the fish would be helpful!! Thanx!!!

I have this red coating, or slime covering everything. The guy at the store gave me something to put in the water, this only backed it down for about two weeks and its right back.

I've lost an emerald crab, a cleaner shrimp, and my goby since this stuff come.

I have had the tank for over a year and never seen anything like this, my biggest worry has been this green hair-like moss cropping up on the glass seemingly as fast as you clean it off.

I do a 1/3 tank water change, with RO water every 3 months.

I even went as far....and don’t yell at me....as to pull every piece of live rock out of the tank and scrub it with a brush trying to get this to stop.

I currently am the sole proprietor of a small business dealing with rescueing and buying horses and then reselling them to good homes. It isn't very profitable since my main concern is getting the rescued horses back in good health which in some cases has been more than $3500/horse and then I sell it for $800 when it is ready to go to it's forever home.
I am wanting to expand on this business with some other more profitable ventures such as giving riding lessons, training horses for people, and anything else you might think of.
I am currently running the business from my mother's 80 acres while we work on getting my own land set up. My mom's place doesn't have everything either, but do you think it is best to start adding ventures to make money so that we can expand on our facilities, or wait and slowly save up to get the facilities before expanding on the services we offer. Her place is set up enough to make things work, but it isn't that flashy or fancy.

She was captured in late April and ate two mice, but she refuses to eat the mouse currently in her cage. In fact, the snake and the mouse cuddle at night. Could the snake be pregnant? Upset? Too hot or cold?
