Not so much as to tell time, but do they understand the concept of passing time? Is 5 minutes 8 hours to them or vise-versa?

NOPE they r clueless:() ALthough they may generally know when u will be home from work etc. if u have a regular schedule.

If your household runs on a schedule they adapt to it. They can tell when it is feeding time, bedtime, time for the school bus to bring the kids home etc. Knowing that they can determine these things implies that they have a sense of time passing, but I don't think they have a need for a clock!

Absolutely when it comes to their feeding times, when you are due home, when it's time to get up and when it's time to go to bed. But as far as duration of time I don't think, for instance, if you are out at work all day that they watch the minutes tick by. They get into a routine just like all of us and probably sleep most of the day, so aren't missing us as much as we like to think.

i think they do just not the same as we do.....they know when it is time to eat..our dog knows when it is 9 pm..he goes to his crate for bed....i know when my mom goes away for a couple of days he dog gets worse the longer she is gone..day 1 he is ok..day 2 he lays down alot, day 3 he is at the door crying...so i guess that would be a yes

I know my cat knows exactly when it is time to be fed, when it is time to sleep and when it is time to wake us up for work!
