Stewball, Blowin' in the Wind, Kum By Yah, 500 Miles ( also called the Railroader's Lament) Where have all the Flowers Gone?, The Erie Canal, The MTA Protest Song, Oh, Susannah!, Home on the Range, This Land is Your Land, God Bless the USA, God Bless America, Leaving, on a Jet Plane, Take Me Home, Country Roads, The Early Morning Rain, Happy Trails, Michael, Row the Boat Ashore, Oh, Shenandoah, and The Battle Hymm of the Republic. These are just some of the songs I know that we used to teach the kids ( and new staff) when I worked at a camp up in Michigan. Other songs include the Hammer Song ( also called If I Had a Hammer) Day is Done, The Lemon Tree, The Big Rock Candy Mountain, Puff, the Magic Dragon, Pass it On, and The Rig-a-Bamboo. Most of these songs are wonderful for kids and adults to learn, and they are unique in that the great majority of them feature clean, non- racist, non- sexist, non-profane language, which puts them in glaring contrast to most of the hard rock and rap that today's kids usually listen to. Hope this helps- and gives you some ideas.

You can check out all of these songs. I'm not sure if any of them are about horses but we sing them at horseback riding camp every summer. They're all really good.
