This can be a sign of too much ammonia or nitrites in the water. Do you have a means of testing the water in the tank (or tanking a sample in a clean container to your pet store- they can test it for you)? If not, are you changing at least 25% of his waer every week and using a gravel vacuum ot clean the gravel in his tank? If he's growing, he may need more frequent cleaning than when you first got him, if he's still in the same tank. And he may need a larger tank, depending on the size you have him in now. Fancy goldfish (ones with a double tail) can get up to 8-10" and the common goldfish can get up to 18".

mutually as the fin itself will certainly advance back with time, the extremely tail in no way will. with a bit of luck that's in simple terms a small feeder goldfish, as they are able to get replaced. i would not assume one in each of those to stay long after this. If that's a greater costly fish you're related to, forcefeeding the fish and watching it particularly heavily in the time of something of its life is the only answer.

I agree with Copperhead, this is almost certainly a symptom of poor water quality, you need to make sure your parameters are good & if not continue doing partial water changes daily until they read normal-then keep up the water changes every week or so.
