What is the easiest way to keep flies from biting my dogs ears in the summer?

They're driving him crazy and I've tried spraying him with "Off" but all he does is roll in the dirt and rub it away. I've tried rubbing Vaseline on them but, same thing, he gets it all dirty and rubs it off. He's afraid of water so I cant spray him with the garden hose to try to help...

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Try using an ear-cleaner solution (propylene glycol) on cotton ot keep his ears very clean. If they ar every clean, the flies won't bother him as much.

I'm not much of an expert. I would suggest checking with your vet. There may be something like advantage that helps with flies like it helps with fleas and ticks. I don't know if there is such a thing. Don't put any type of lotion that is scented. Things that smell good seem to attract flies. Also if your dog is an outside dog if possible bring him in the house and limit him to one room or something.

Get some flea & tick treatment in a spray bottle & using gloves, spary some on your hands & rub it on the dogs ears. Or check at a feed store & get some of the stuff they have for horses to rid them of flys. Nasty pesky things.

There is a product made for horse and I believe it is called Fly Wipe. Although not 100% effective, it does work.
