I have had my 15 y.o.cat before the kids and husband came along .Even though my cat is in good health for his age I don't want to have him get this shot and have him have health complications to where I would have to put him to sleep. Please help with this answer.

We have a 5 y/o male Maine coon mix cat. We are soon adding a new kitten and at first I wanted a male but now am thinking it might be better to get a female. Jinx certainly runs our house so wasn't sure if another male cat is a good idea or if it really matters. Thanks for your help.

I only have 5 fry in a 10 gallon tank with a pleco as the only tankmate. 1 of the fry is much much larger than the rest. Another one is also bigger but not as big as the first one. The other 3, at 2 months old, are probably small enough to get eaten by an adult guppy still. I don't know how big a cm or a mm is compared to an inch but the big one is less than 1 inch (maybe 3/4"?). The small ones are maybe about 1/4". Why the great disparity in growth? They all seem healthy and swim fine, etc. They all seem to get to eat when I feed them. I feed them several times a day and usually do partial water changes once a week but sometimes it's longer.

Also, how young can the fry get pregnant? I have not separated them- I don't care about that really- and the 2 biggest ones (females) have pretty dark gravid spots and seem kinda fat. I couldn't imagine them having babies already though. I know they can get inseminated very young... but how young can actually give birth? Thanks!

The vet has done a scratch test to see if it could be a form of mange. The test was Negative for that. He's on flea meds. I'm not sure what else could be causing his hair loss. We give him a bath once or twice a month. I don't think it's just dry skin. My puppy is a 17 week old Weimaraner.

I have 5 fry that were born a few weeks ago, not sure if its been longer. They are about 1/4 inch long and are swimming around with my male and female swordtail and my neon tetra ....

my question .. my tank isn't going to be able to hold all these fish soon. I have my 3 fish PLUS a algea eater (brown) he's close to 3 inches long and my catfish which is 2 1/2 long .... my swordtails are 2 inches and my tetra is about an 1 ...
I have a 10 gallon tank. What do I do about my fry ... and what if my girl gets pregnant again .. what do i do with those fry????

I don't have anyone to give fish too .. do I just flush em down the toilet or what?? Reason I am asking is if do you think I should get another tank for my fry's or just leave them be?????

I have a litter registered Great Dane puppy, her name is Mary Jane. She is brindle and completely gorgeous, she has a teeny white marking on her chest and on a couple of her toes and no black mask. I have no idea what to register as her AKC name...any suggestions?!

I do have a couple specifications- she did not come from a named kennel, so anything "kennel name..." is out. And I would LOVE to have her name have something to do with the beach, as we are in Florida.

I look forward to getting everyone's suggestions! Thanks!

What I mean is what would be a reasonable price to ask for that wont scare off potential owners? I wouldnt charge anything, except that I have heard over and over that people value what they pay for. Not to mention all of the horror stories Ive heard about people making snap decisions and then a month later abandoning the poor babies........I love all animals, and these are especially important to me so I want to make sure the potential owner is ready for a pet and has a good heart.

This little kitten, now almost 5 weeks was an abandoned baby at about 3 weeks of age. It was dehydrated, malnurished and the first visit to the veterinarian gave me an answer to the stool sample that it was not suffering from Coccidia and although it may have feline leukemia, that is not clear because they could not draw enough blood to test, in the kittens aenemic condition. So I left it for the day, it was rehydrated and given drops for diarreah, prescription food and eye ointment. Eyes have cleared up, its bones were soon hidden and it showed more robust playfulness but the big killer is that the diarreah will not stop. Back to the vet we go and I'm told to dispense with the prescription food and move to kitten chow moistened with warm water, also the suggestion to use some kitten milk, but this little kitten won't eat enough of these items to satisfy it and the diarreah continues. Then we added wormer to the mix and the diarreah continues. Any suggestions please. He suffers

Today, we took my auants dog she had for 6 years to get "euthanized". That means she practically took the dog to get a shot to die slowly and painless. it was so sad cuz we use to love that dog.

they had no other opition, the shelter wouldnt let anyone adapt the dogs that were all there, they would just kill them all. is that legal?

I know it has to be because his eyesight is going and maybe even blind one day.Is there anything I can do to prolong his eyesight or prevent him from losing it totally?Leave lights on?Certain foods?I'm worried because my neighbors dog went blind and she ran into walls and I would be devastated if that happened to my dog.

She's about 2 years old in people years. She has problems with greeting people. Always jumping on everyone. I know this is a sign for attention but I want to know if its too late to take her to a obedence school or something.

Also when we are out @ the dog park she doesn't like other dogs. Gets along well with most people. She gets extremly jealous when I play with other dogs and actually attacked another dog due to me playing fetch with the other dog. she loves to play in the water. I want to take her swiming with me but i'm afriad she'll runaway.

This dog was my Brothers dog and he's abandon her and i've grown to like her and i want to get her the proper training.

I also have another dog in my house hold. An 12 year old beagle(people years.)

One more thing. Is there a list online on places i can take her to get training in the washington D.C. area? and how much do you think it will cost?

I went on vacation for the weekend, and when I got home I found my cat sneezing and dry-retching, and she doesn't seem to have bathed in a while. She's been sitting next to me all morning, but I've seen she is able of walking around the house. Today, she actually succeeded in throwing something up, but she swallowed it both times. Her sister hisses at her every time they get close.

I'm no vet, but I suspect either a cold (can cats get those?) or perhaps, since she is young, her first hairball. She's never had one as far as I can tell, in two years of her life. Whether it is one of those or not, is there any domestic cure or would I be better off going to the vet?

My Yorkie-Poo (yorkshire terrier mixed with poodle) has a blister or zit like thing on her back. It didn't seem to bother her too much although she was licking it. I noticed it, and cleaned it, pressing on the area around it a gooey puss came out along with a more firm "head," I cleaned it with a damp cloth and put neosporin on it and then covered it with a bandage. The wound has a decent sized hole in the center of it and is weepy (a clear blood tinged liquid). Does anyone know what it is? What would be a good course of treatment? I don't want to take her to the vet and have them say just leave it alone it will heal on its own and then charge me $75 (kind of poor right now). Please help!!
