This is one of the only TRUE vet emergencies! He sounds like he has a urinary tract obstruction and if he is not treated NOW he will very likely not survive,

this is what he has, they gave some meds and sent us home becasue i can not pay for the vet bills, it is been almost 24 hrs now, i dont know what i can do for him. there is no way that i can take him back to the vet, i just done have any money to do that.
he is my daughter cat, and i dont know what i can do to make him better, i am not even sure if he will make it though that night, please any help you can give on what to do now would be great.

Ok these are the characteristics that I want in a dog:

~Loving
~Affectionate
~Good with children
~Semi-good guard dog
~Playful
~Energetic (needs atleast 2 walks per day)
~Must be good with cats
~Easy to train
~Doesn't need too much grooming (no more than a few brushes per week)
~Smart/intelligent
~Good with strangers (not reserved)
~Not too many herediary health problems (no more than 5 known hereditary health problems)

I have researched a couple breeds but I can't decide what dog would be best for me. I don't mind what size it is but NO CHIHUAHUAS, YORKIES, MALTESE OR SHIH-TZU! I really don't like those breeds so DO NOT SUGGEST THEM! I don't want a dog that is known for being aggressive and I don't want a dog that would require a dominating or experienced owner. I've only ever owned a Dalmatian so I don't have any experience with a dominating breed.
Any suggestions would be great. I'm at a loss of what breed to get! I don't want to make a bad decision.

Usually it is brownish. Should I be worried color/size?
See white isnt un-common for it but its size was maybe 2-3x larger than normal.
It doesn't seem my veiled chameleon is eating much and seems to despise crickets. I almost always have to manually feed it mealworms but I havent done so in a while should I go back to mealworms?

I got a kitten from the vets about a year ago and she had been picked up out of the gutter beaten and scared and the vet was desperately trying to find a home so he didnt have to put her down. I took her home and slowly she came good until 1 day my husband caught her on the kitchen table eating out of my daughters discarded cereal bowl. He chased her around the house and scared the crap out of her and we nearly broke up over it. Well now she has had kittens and I want to find them and bring them in until they are old enough to go to new homes. He on the other hand doesnt want me to and this is causing a big problem. As far as I am concerned it is my fault she got pregnant. I didnt want to stress her out so didnt take her for the opp. I dont believe in cruelty to animals and I want to be true to myself and I said if he touched her I would leave. Am I being a *****? He wants to have her put down. She is a crazy wild cat but I cant think of her being hurt.

well i don't get my puppy pom puppy for 3 months. and maybe one day i might breed her, probabely only twice a year. and i figured that i will only sell them to one per person, no pet shops at all as i aslo think that in nasty. i will keep intouch with my buyers and all my pups will be desexed. so i figure that if i do my reserch and talk to breeders and when i know all i can i guess then maybe i will breed now and then and be reg or course. am i on the right track.

I understand that a jackass is a cross between a donkey and a horse, but are jackasses their own species or does the horse and the donkey have to mate everytime to make the jackass?

ok.... we have two dogs..... one is a 3 yr old cocker and the other is a 1 yr old lab. when we brought home the lab.... the cocker was very mean and constantly attacked her... she never brought blood but she was mean about it.... the lab would always just lay down and take it...... and now almost 1 yr later... the lab is fighting back.... tonight she went after the cocker(after the cocker growled at her first) and the lab drew blood, and the cocker needed stitches.... what should we do!? we really dont want to get rid of the lab, but if we have no other choice, then we'll have to find her a new home. but is there any medications that can calm her down or any siggestions to stop them from fighting?! thanks for the help! p.s. they are both females.. if that matters.

Okay last question on the cat I found. She seems to take refuge in the bathroom. She will wander around the house at night when the dogs are sleeping. During the day she just stays in the bathroom and will his at the dogs if they come in, but she holds her ground in there. She's friendly to us and likes to be pet and all...but will she get used to us, the dogs and the house and feel comfortable enough to actually leave the bathroom during the day?

I was watching TV and heard a lot of noise coming from my 2nd story balcony, so I cut off all the lights and looked out the window and found a raccoon walking around out there! I got some bread and slowly opened the door and threw some out there, which he ate. He didn't seem to be too scared of me and he even walked up to the door and was scratching to get in (like a cat). I thought he was so cute, but I wasn't about to open the door and try to touch him! Are raccoons easy pets or are they dangerous???

Lately my cat has been having this liquid coming out of her eye. At times she favors that eye and closes it and keeps the other one open. What is it?

My dog delivered yesterday, this morning was panting, nesting (digging in her blankets) whining and acting frantic, I took her to the vet, who administered 2 injections of calcium, and said her calcium was low (hypocalcimia, aka "milk fever"). This quieted her down, but the panting will not subside. She is nursing a litter of 4, and the vet noted she is really producing a ton of milk. She gave Cal-tabs and advised two a day, I started feeding her cottage cheese with her feedings, and I just want to know how other people have handled it? Can you make it through calcium problems in the mother and still nurse? I hate to think of having to make her stop nursing. Is panting the least of my worries, and she'll be ok? I know to watch for tremors and if she acts worse again. I want to know how to keep a handle on it. A friend with dogs suggested giving her TUMS...can you give too many when a dog is nursing? The dog by the way is a beagle, two years old, this is her first litter.

We want to get our cat declawed, but we need to know how much it costs, and does it harm the cat. Will it affect the cat in any way?

When ever my mom yells at me, or me and my brother fight, or something he gets in their face and growls, and only threatens to bite them, he raises all the hair on his back and gets between whoever it is, and me and wont let them move untill i okay it, or reassure him, but he would never bite them. i have had dobes all my life and i know thats what they are bred for but, i have never had one who was this protective of me. i mean its a good thing sometimes, like when i was at the petstore and a man kept following me, and finally just grabbed me when i was trying to hide, thank god i had hammer, or i dont know what would have happend. but in the end the man had 62 stiches, and was arrested. but i dont know, any ideas whta i could do to reduce the over protetion of me? he does listen when i tell him to stop, or its okay, and he only reacts when im stressed, scared, or upest. but still what else do u think i can do with out taking ALL the protection out of him, and obvioulsy, i need it.

My cat loves to drink water from everything but his water dish. I have started putting out cups of water for him instead of the water dish, since he loves those. I rinse and refill his water dish at least once a day, but he still will drink out of cups that have been sitting there for days. Does he feel more adventurous that way, like he 'found' the water? Does he just want to test out all the water there is?

Why is this? Is it normal?
