well i don't get my puppy pom puppy for 3 months. and maybe one day i might breed her, probabely only twice a year. and i figured that i will only sell them to one per person, no pet shops at all as i aslo think that in nasty. i will keep intouch with my buyers and all my pups will be desexed. so i figure that if i do my reserch and talk to breeders and when i know all i can i guess then maybe i will breed now and then and be reg or course. am i on the right track.

It depends on the reason you want to breed from her as to whether or not you are on the right track. Why do you want to do this is the first reason you have to ask yourself, why not just have your dog or one or two litters and be done with it? There are only so many times a dog can be bred from before it becomes a health hazzard so hopefully you are not buying the dog for that sole purpose (unfortunately I have come across a few that have gotten a pet for that reason only and discard it once it is no longer useful).

If you simply want to see your pet reproduced in a litter or two, there's nothing wrong with that, however, if there is no need for continuous breeding (you are not hoping to produce a show dog from a pet you love), then you should ask yourself why you would want to do that. Puppies are hard work at times and they need fairly constant monitoring. Just a few things to think about.

Sure you are. Keep asking questions. If you will be open to good answers and will learn the proper way, you should be able to do what you are thinking of doing. Just remember one should always breed to better the breed. Don't just take any two dogs and breed them. They should be of good quality and have a good pedigree. Otherwise you will just be adding to the number of poorly bred dogs that fill the dog shelters.
Hang in there and try to learn before starting a breeding program. Meanwhile, just love you puppy.

you're on the right track as long as you make sure you screen your breeding pair for genetical issues and that they are of high quality conformation of the breed. you can do this by showing your dog. if your dog shows well and has championships on her then you will have stud dog owners knocking down your door to breed to her and you will have no problem finding homes for the pups. but just to breed her because you want to no matter what homes the pups are going to is not the right track. hope you can get it all figured out. good luck.

My question to you would be, why do you want to breed your Pom? The answer to that would tell if you were on the right track.
