I have a large tank 72 inches by 18 inches by 24 inches. I have four severums a pleco and 2 juvenile Oscars about 3 inches. Recently two of my severums have laid eggs on a piece of slate. Will my other fish be OK when the eggs hatch and how long do I have before they hatch. Any advice would be welcome as I have never had spawning fish before.

I already know how much it costs to maintain a pet because my husband and i have a kitten. We dont have the money right now to adopt but we will have the money to maintain the pet because my husband just got a new job making good money. Does anyone know of a puppy free to a good home or maybe a very small fee? Please let me know and leave your e-mail or you can e-mail me at pamelahadggega@yahoo.com

What is it going to take for dog owners to start picking up after their dogs? They constantly harp on about it being just the minority of dog owners but we all know that this cannot be the case purely on the amount of dog foul that is left.
Please dont reply and tell me how YOU always pick up after your dog, because this post is not directed at you. What i want to know is, as dog owners yourselves, what do you feel we need to do to give our children a safe/clean environment and to stop these idiots from ruining your reputation as responsible dog owners?

I am not sure how old the kitten is, but here is a picture with him next to a kleenex box for scale http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v410/ShapeShift81/babynewyear.jpg
and here is mom next to the same kleenex box
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v410/ShapeShift81/chibithin.jpg
Anyways, I have no idea what to do. Mom is so skinny, and the kitten can eat dry food, so I am not sure if she is just so thin that she cant nurse him, or if she is trying to wean him.
I have been feeding them dry food all day, and in the evening a can of Friskies. Just one of those cans about the size of a tuna can. I am not sure what to do with them, what to feed them, how often, and how much. And grooming! I have always had long hair cats, so this is new for me. How often should I brush them? And what about baths for them? I want to get them to tolerate baths, but I am not sure of the process.
Thank you all so much for your help! :)

I've only ridden English & I'm thinking about trying Western since my horse loves to go long, low, & slow. I'd probably be able to borrow a saddle at first, but I'd like to have a bit & a headstall. I was wondering what kind of bit would be best. My horse has a soft mouth, and we currently ride English with just a link snaffle. He takes a size 5 1/2 bit, but that size doesn't seem common in western bits. Does that matter? Where could I find a good western bit- or could I just use my English one?
Thanks!

I dislike using processed flours in my dog's food, but am having trouble finding a recipe for biscuits that does not use it. I already give treats that are made up of oatmeal and other ingredients, but I plan on making cookie-cutter biscuits for my dog's birthday, so I need to make my own.

Royal icing is made up of powdered sugar, egg whites or meringue powder (I use meringue powder as it's safer), vanilla or other flavor extract, and water. Also, glycerin is added to help with the consistency. It's perfectly safe for people to eat, and besides the sugar content, is it safe for dogs to eat as well?

I've had my pet parakeet Ralphy for a week now. How long does it take for your bird to get used to you? He's still running away and hates to get out of his cage. When you pet him he bites you. Is something wrong with him?

Our dog seems to have some intestinal pain and recently chewed and ate a rawhide bone. She had some other symptoms as well, such as a little bit of drool and her eyes were watering, but only for a short period of time.

my older cat is 6 years old and the vet says she is an ok weight. she has always been a nibbler and won't eat anythng but dry cat food. she is not the problem. the problem is my crazy 6 month old kitten. she will eat anything and everything. she eats her food quickly so she can eat the other cats food. so now the older cat can't nibble throughout the day and the older cat begs for more because she doesn't eat so fast like the younger one. so i'm feeding them all the time now. i'm afraid the younger one is getting overweight. i only feed them dry food everyday and wet food as a treat like once a week and sometimes a little fish too when i cook it.

I have a two year old pug and he has vomited 6 times in the past two hours. Theres no food in it, its just a yellow frothy consistency (sorry if I just grossed you out) He didnt want to eat his breakfast this morning and he hasnt eaten anything unusual or any human food at all. I'm not sure what I should do. I can call the vet tommorow if it keeps happening but I'd rather not call today unless its an emergency. Any suggestions on what I should do?

My rat terrier/chihuhua wentin to heat on Dec. 8, 2006. Its now the new year. Today she wont eat or drink and is attacking my new pup. Vets not open today. Thought about paging him. She really has me worried cause she seems to be bleeding heavier. Does anyone know if this is normal for a small breed or should i page the vet?
