I have a large tank 72 inches by 18 inches by 24 inches. I have four severums a pleco and 2 juvenile Oscars about 3 inches. Recently two of my severums have laid eggs on a piece of slate. Will my other fish be OK when the eggs hatch and how long do I have before they hatch. Any advice would be welcome as I have never had spawning fish before.

Your other fish will be thrilled when the eggs hatch - Oscars love fresh baby fish. The Severums shouldn't hurt the other fish unless they get to close to the eggs.

The eggs hatch in between 3-5 days.

It will probably be better if you put the eggs in a breeding trap with an airstone at the bottom.

Start reading up on the preperation of infusoria and go and buy yourself some lettuce otherwise the young uns will die of hunger.

i would take the oscars out soon... when they get any bigger they'll eat and attach everything moving.
