My cat is 11 years old. Last year, we got a new kitten and she seems to have gotten over her jealousy well. Lately, I have discovered that she has licked about 4 inches of her fur off her leg. All there is left is skin in the spot. I try to push her head away when she licks that area, but the fur doesn't seem to be growing back. I am really worried about what is wrong with her. Is it a disease or anxiousness or being old? Please help!!!!!!!!!

my boyfriend just got a leopard gecko, and the temperature is not 90. it is just about 88 F and 31 C and im thinking the heat is escaping from the top since he doesnt have a glass cover. Also, from what i saw, he only sits in this one corner of a little house that we bought and only occasionally moving. i woke up in the middle of the night and saw him climbing up the terrarium. Does this mean hes scared, or is he just still adapting to his new surroundings? Id also like to know if he should get a glass cover since im the one who pays for everything lol

My cat has a cut on his ear. It is almost fully scabbed over. Does anyone know the signs of a healthy cat like cold, dry nose. What else?

My male kitten is nine months old and weighs 8.2 pounds. Is this normal or is he overweight? I also have a female kitten that's the same age, but she weighs 7 pounds.

I am thinking about a ribbon snake for a pet. Someone recommended that I get one, because it's small. However, I can't find any websites with useful information about them! So, if you know some websites, or have information on ribbon snakes, please tell me! How big do they get? What do they eat? Do they make good pets?

My dog (german shepherd) has never really had a problem with leash walking- and he rarely pulls. His only problem is winding around my legs, switching off from left to right, and stopping to play with/smell something on the ground. How should i teach him to heel?

He's a three-year-old male and for the past few weeks has been trying to get up a hairball, but with no sucess. I'm getting pretty worried. I don't want to take him to the vet because the vets never help (I've tried many) and they are really expensive. Is there something I can do? Is this something to worry about? Thank you!!! Please help.

Okay, I've searched online and have found how to introduce you new baby to the family dog when returning home from the hospital...but what about reversing the situation and bringing a new puppy home instead. Anyone have good advice for me from that perspective? Or links to articles I should read, books to buy, etc. We have a 10 month old baby and will be bringing home a 7 week old chocolate lab (English) next weekend. We plan to crate train (the puppy that is ;-) and I will definitely supervise closely when the two are together. Any other words of wisdom would be appreciated...don't do it and you're crazy don't count as words of wisdom though. TIA

My boyfriend and I have been at house training our corgi for just about a year now. No matter how many times or how often we let our dog outside she still uses her crate to void. There is the occassion that she will go when on the leash (when she does she gets loads of praise) but more often than not she will only smell around outside until we bring her back in. We have tried the take her outside and if nothing in 5 minutes bring her in and put her in her crate for 5 mins then take her outside again/repeate method but she seems to hold off from going until we have given up from exhaustion and she just goes in her cage.

About 3 months ago we thought she finally had it. She was holding it through the night and while we were at work and she would rarely have an accident in the house or crate. But in the past month she has reverted back to the way she was when she was a puppy. Nothing tramatic has happened so I am un-sure where to turn.

Any ideas on how to break this habit?

My leash is quite short. But i use it because she continually barks at other dogs and i can pull her to me quickly to distract her. She is fine off the leash and comes to the whistle but on the leash she is hard work. She is 5 months old

I am in the market for a Welsh Corgi and put a deposit on one with a breeder. After talking to her more and meeting her dogs I found out that the puppy I put a deposit on is the only one that lived out of 6 dogs. I'm not sure if I should go through with the purchase or find another puppy?
