Big aquarium fish, over 15 cm. Aggressive and need some room. If you have a pair you'll need a 70 gallon aquarium or larger

Actually an oscar is not a goldfish or what we generally call a tropical fish, it is a semi-peaceful South American Cichlid, species name. Astronotus Ocellatus if you want to look up pics to see ifs the fish you have. They get to a foot long. They do best in a species tank and will generally eat anything that will fit in their mouth, but general behaviour is peaceful. Goldfish are a common treat for oscars, but should not replace cichlid food as a staple. Oscars have noticable teeth on the front of the mouth.

If the fish is all orange with no markings but looks something similar to a goldfish, you might be looking at some type of barb. Barbs are fin nippers and most are schooling fish, if not in a school or with long finned fish, they could be fairly aggressive.

Also possible you have an aggressive goldfish, it happens sometimes, or if you have many goldfish, your tank could just be too small.

And no, a fish will not grow to the size of the enviroment no more then I could stunt or increase your growth by putting you in a small or big house.

Oscars can get pretty large. I think they're growth is relative to the size of your tank. They are also aggressive fish that will probably eat your other fish.

BTW, this is the dog section, not fish.

an oscar is not a gold fish. oscars can get as big as a 55 galllon barrel given the right place to live. You feed them fish and they will grow as big as the area they are in will wlllow them to grow. Teh bigger the tank, pond the bigger the fish.
