Buy food specific to the type of fish you have. You need to be a more responsible pet owner. You can stock up on an extra can of fish food. It doesn't take up much space, nor cost very much.

Most fish can go for a week without much issue. I would use bread or crackers. Honestly I'd need to know the type of fish. Some or meat eaters, and some like veggies. It wouldn't hurt to throw in some raw zuchi, or other squash slices. Raw peas with the skin removed.

some human beings devour fish because of the fact they think of that is extra healthy than different styles of flesh meals. regrettably, many styles of seafood have mercury by using environmental an infection, and that they nevertheless have ldl cholesterol (althugh not as much as beef or fowl) and nil fiber, as do all animal meals. some human beings take the Catholic Church view that fish at the instant are not meat, by using their "that is okay to devour fish on Fridays" rule. Jewish nutritional regulations (kashrut) do not evaluate fish as meat (do not question me why). that's the only flesh nutrients which would be served with milk (shellfish, BTW, is forbidden to Jews). some human beings do not understand fish do have thoughts, and are ignorant of analyze displaying they do form societies of varieties. it is the final i will arise with.

Anything you would put in a salad. It's a good idea to give your fish (unless a true carnivore) fresh veggies weekly anyway. Zuccini and cucumber are big hits usually. Put them in raw. Remember to peel any tough skins and nothing TOO to hard. Peas, beans, lettuce, cabbage... Stay away from things which are really strong tasting or acidic.

If you are in a pinch, the best you can do is to grind up some seafood with a little water in a blender, dry it out in the oven, then flake a little bit off for your fish.
Or you can tost some bread and give them a little of that.
I wouldn't do this for salt-water fish, though.

Give them lots of fish food, but not too much. Next time that happens, there is this little feeding stick for fish I think, that you can get for fish when you go away. If you can't find it, ask a neighbor next time.
