If a rabbit didn't eat for 24 hours it would be very serious. Your rabbit is in danger of dieing at this point. With no way of examining it I can only guess, but one of the most common serious problems in a caged rabbit that hasn't been exposed to infectious disease and has been fed properly is a hair ball. Rabbits get them like cats from grooming, but unlike cats, they don't expel them by vomiting. The hair ball starts out small but can grow to the point it blocks the digestive system. The rabbit stops eating, and without veterinary intervention it will die a very slow and agonizing death. Rabbits don't let you know they are in pain. They just hunch up and sit there. If you value your rabbit, take it to a vet today. Good luck.

That could be any of a number for reasons. First thing I recommend is thinking back to any changes that you might have made in the last week or two.

Look for any and all signs. Nasal discharge, diahrrea, warmer than normal around the ears, tilting its head, breathing hard, fur chewing, wetness on inside of front paws, soft stool, abscesses, black scabs inside the ears.

If it has stopped eating for a week give it almost anything it will eat to get it to eat something. Your rabbit is in pretty bad condition if it has not eaten for that long

I recommend taking it to a vet, if there are any symptoms you can find or any changes you have made then let the vet know anything you might think could be relative. You need a rabbit savvy vet and very soon.

I'd suggest having him looked at by a vet. There might be something bugging him that you can't see easily. How old id he? Rabbits sometimes will start having problems for no apparent reason when they're older- like 5 years or more. Really, though, the only one who could really find out what's wrong with your bunny is by taking him to the doc!
Also, you might want to try encouraging him to eat with some of his favorite foods. He could be bored if all he gets to eat is pellets. Make sure he gets hay as well, and try to gradually introduce treats such a fruits & veggies gradually into his diet. My rabbits especially LOVE carrots, peaches, broccoli, dandylion leaves (a HUGE favorite), and fresh basil. You could also give him special treats like uncooked oatmeal, cubbed papaya, or black oil sunflower seeds. Most rabbits adore these things, and feeding them occasionally will help strengthen your bond with your rabbit and also help him regain an intrest in eating.
I hope this helps!

Rabbits will often mask their pain or that there's a problem for a really long time-usually stopping eating is pretty far gone for a bunny.

If your rabbit is still alive, take him to the vet. NOW. He could have a gastric impaction, and that's really painful, and could kill him. Bunnies need to eat in order to keep their digestive systems moving, and to keep the bacteria in their guts happy-not eating for a week means things could be in rough shape.

Rabbits are prey animals, so they hide their pain very well. You need to be vigouresly hand feeding him. They need constant food in their digestive system or they go down extremely quickly. Did you take him to the vet? You can not easily see their molars, the molars are usually the teeth that are overgrown, not the incisors. You need a buccal pad seperator to be able to see their molars. They hide their pain very well, and will stop eating when in pain. He needs a vet ASAP!!! He needs to be evaluated and put on pain meds. This is not something to wait around with. Its EXTREMELY serious when they stop eating.

If your rabbit hasn't eaten anything for a week, I'm surprised it's still alive. Mine stopped eating for almost a day. She was suffering from static gut. I had to syringe feed her with Oxbow Critical Care every hour for 24 hours. She nearly died.

Rabbits are designed to spend most of their time grazing and they must have a constant supply of hay to nibble on. If they don't eat, their gut starts to ferment and they shut down. It basically poisons the rabbit from the inside and they die in quite a lot of pain.

Best to get your rab to the vet asap. Hope it's ok.

When a rabbit stops eating, it is probably sick. You should take it to the vet because when they stop eating they become dehydrated and can die. Rabbits can hide an illness and can be sick even when their owner can't tell. We've had this happen. We didn't know our little guy was sick until he died.

you don't need to take the bunny to the vet just mix a little bit of fresh kale or some apples and tomatoes with its regular food and if that doesn't work feed the rabbit out of hand.
