I lost my "child" two days ago. She wasn't sick or showing any signs of being sick. She was having a hard time breathing and I took her to the er vet. They said she had an air pocket between her chest and heart which was causing it hard for her to get air in. They did a chest tap on her to get the air out but two hours later she stopped breathing on her own. I was completly hysterical and don't remember what they called this of what causes this. Any thoughts???

i had to leave my loved kitten at a cattery because i had to go away for 6 weeks. I miss her so much and wonder if she will be sad there? will she be the same loving cat when i get her back? will she have pyschological issues being kept in a cage that long??? i need some help, im really worried, ive never had a cat before and am feeling really emotional being away from her

We got "Tigger" a year before we added another kitty. She was never a lover, but she would occasionally lay on my and let me rub the top of her head. Its been 6 months since we added "Baby Roo" and ever since her addition Tigger will NOT let us pet her. She moves away as if it physically hurts her to be petted! And if she knows I'm moving towards her to pet her, she runs off. Why??

I can't lock him in another room because he knows how to open doors. (He learned that from me locking him out of rooms.) My computer is in the living room. Only my cat Smokey does it. My other two cats act like we don't have the computer. they just come over next to us and meow when they want are atenshon. Smokey on the other hand getts up in your face on the keyboard or sits on the mouse. I can't us water cause we don't a thing to protect the computer from water. Please help!

i got this parakeet from freecycle. the woman told me he was about 8 months old when i got him. so now he's almost a year. i guess i've read about how girls have lighter ceres than boy parakeets. he has a rather orangish-yellow cere

also that girls nibble more and he does. and that boy parakeets are blue and girls are pink...well mine is actually bright pink more in the middle and bright blue on the sides of his belly. the rest of him is brown and with white spots.

is there a way to tell?

so i bought my dog (long hair chihuahua 5 years old) some dog food in those little square plastic bowls that you just peel off the top and serve. she really likes it and thats good because im trying to have her like human food again. well my question is that what is a good brand similar to that type of food but doesnt cost an arm and a leg. she eats a lot for a little dog and those things costs 80 cents each. are the big can ones just as good? suggestions please.

My 7 year old black lab consumed a pair of underwear & socks earlier this week. Since then, she has been throwing up daily & having bad diarrhea. She hasn't had much of an appetitie either. Is there anything I can do on my own without having to take her to the emergency veteranarian? Does this sound normal for dogs to do this?

Ok I finally let my husband get a snake...would only allow lizards up until today we got two Kenyans anyways I wanted something that did not get too big since I have a toddler and well do not want to be irresponsible getting a snake too big...I have read up on them and everything said they were a good snake but one of the python breeders said that they were very nippy and that he has been bit mostly by Kenyans...any thoughts on this also the pair are het. for snow and knowlege on that too??? Thanks. My husband is very knowledgable on pythons and most reptiles he just never owned one of these.

I have heard it is ok to give a dog Pepcid AC for upset stomach, but does anyone know if it's ok to used Pepcid Complete. I gave some to my dog the other day but he threw it right up. Not sure if he threw up from the medicine or just from being sick.

Ok, I got myself into a bit of a pickle...i am watching my friends dog for about 2 months, and I have never owned a long haired dog before. I didn't know I had to brush him everyday, now he has a few matts. He doesn't have very many, but I need to know the best way to get them out without cutting his hair. He has 2 on one of his ears that seems to be bothering him. I brushed him every tree days or so, but I am clueless. I don't want to hurt him by pulling on his skin. Do I wait until he is dry? or should I comb him wet? Should I just give it all up and take him to a groomer? We live in Germany and they can be pretty expensive here, and it can take a while to get an appointment. HELP!
