You said your were allergic to dog and cat hair. Have you been tested? I ask because cats are different and you can be allergic to the hair, or the dander, or the dried saliva from grooming themselves. Be sure to know, because all dogs have hair, and dander, and all the dogs I know of groom themselves.
Find a breeder of the type of dog you have decided on and go spend some time there. See if you have any reactions. Then go back and rub your face and eyes. If you don't have a reaction after that you are good to go!

First off...ALL dogs shed. The only breeds that do not shed are hairless breeds.
I have a Standard Poo and I'm also a groomer, so I can vouch to the fact that all dogs shed. However, some just do not shed as much as others. (And I can't tell you how many "Labradoodles and Goldendoodles" I have seen in the shelters that were surrendered due to shedding...so don't buy into that gimmick)
Allergies to animals are not caused by the hair itself. They are caused by dander and saliva..which all dogs have. Some breeds are considered to be "low dander" and are good for allergy sufferers, however, nothing is guaranteed 100%.
I always suggest that when you decided on a breed of dog you want to buy/adopt. That you go visit with the breeder and spend some time with the pup as well as the dam and sire (if possible) of the pups to see if you have a reaction. I know some allery sufferers that are not allergic to one Poodle, Bichon whatever, but are allergic to another. So, it is all going to depend on the dog, not the breed per say. Be sure to find a good reputable breeder (try the ___(insert breed)___club of america for referrals) or better yet, adopt from a shelter.
Also keep in mind that most of the "low dander breeds" are going to require regular trips to the groomer every 4-6 weeks.
Low dander breeds that I can think of off hand are:
Poodles
Bichons
Maltese
Yorkies
Wheatons
Kerry Blue
Bedlington
Dachshunds
Italian Greyhounds

Well, I would definatly say get a standard poodle. I have one and they are the best dogs ever. They are hunters and water dogs. I'll come home and my dog will eather have a squirrel or a mouse. I know its gross. But if that doesn't work try a labradoodle. It's a mix of a poodle and a lab. They are really cute and get the trait of a poodle by not shedding.

I have a Bichonpoo neither the Bichon Frise or the Poodle shed. The Maltese, the Yorkshire Terrier and Pomeranian are others.

There is no such thing as a "totally" non-shedding dog. All dogs shed at least a little hair at one time or another, as do humans. There are however dogs that shed little to no hair. This is a list of breeds that shed little to no hair.
