Keep a basket of cat toys on your computer desk. When you see him coming, toss him a toy to distract him. I have a cat named Smokey who my husband says is the dumbest cat in the world! I have another who has learned to open doors. Good luck!

Cat walking in the time of keyboard - a no-noTo end your cat from walking in the time of your computing device keyboard, you're able to apply the comparable procedures that is triumphant at keeping cats off of the counter. in case you spot the cat beginning as much as bounce up on the table with the keyboard, you may throw a pop can packed with some funds and taped close, in the direction of the cat. we don't choose to hit the cat, yet choose to startle him so he stops what he's doing. This works fantastic if we are waiting for him, yet no longer whilst we are no longer in the room. Noise from a plastic Mouse capture will deter a cat from leaping upThere are various contraptions accessible commercially which could be effective. super plastic contraptions which look like mousetraps could be placed on the table close to the keyboard, and whilst the cat jumps on them, the paddle will slap making a noisy, frightening noise. there could be different products your specific cat does in contrast to as a results of sound they make, e.g., cans of air used to bathe computing device keyboards. some cats may even come to affiliate the hissing sound of the air with the sight of the can, and avert going close to the can (which could be comfortably placed next to the keyboard). no longer ordinary plastic keyboard coverHard plastic keyboard covers are additionally accessible. the canopy basically is going over your keyboard whilst it quite isn't any longer in use. bear in mind, however, by keeping your cat off the keyboard, you will in no way understand if she has some hidden literary expertise!

A) When you're not sitting at the computer, pick the keyboard up and sit it on its side next to the monitor. You can also move the mouse out of the cat's reach.
B) If you're working on your computer and the cat approaches, shake a can of pennies at the cat...it scares the cat away. Obviously you don't want the cat to be on the puter, so this is a good way to tell the cat no. Also, if the cat makes it up there before you get a chance to use the rattle, calmly pick the cat up, place him on the floor, then rattle the jar at him.
Good luck!

If you have 3 cats and only one is doing this consider yourself blessed. I smiled when I saw the name because I had a cat named Smokey up until a couple of years ago (she was 21 when she left us) and she was just like your Smokey. She just wouldn't quit it, always in my face when I sat down at the computer. And she was stubborn too. I use to pick her up, smack on the bottom and drop her to the floor, 8 or 9 times of this and she'd get in a huff and leave me alone (for awhile anyway). Look at it the way I did, being a pain in the putt is a cat's primary job.

I don't know what you can do to stop him from doing this, sorry. My cat sits on the computer desk and stares at the cursor really hard then attacks it. He looks real dumb doing that. He also lays down on the keyboard while I am typing. I'm lucky he is asleep under the couch right now.

I know the feeling. I just found a stray cat a few weeks ago. She loves to be near me at all times. So she will plant her fanny right on the keyboard. If I'm not careful she has screwed things up so bad I had to restart the computer. But I still love her.

Ok, I consider myself a somewhat expert on cats because I have 3, but this is a really tough problem. What I do is say loudly and firmly "NO!", swat him on the butt, and dump him on the floor. Every time he jumps up I repeat the last 2 steps. Unless your cat is really stubborn he'll either get bored or insulted and stalk off. But, if you have a cat who is A.) Really stupid and thinks it's a game or B.) Is a real jerk, then wait until they fall asleep and type really quietly...LOL

Not a lot you can do. If your cat has figured out that getting on the keyboard/mouse will get your attention he'll continue to do so to get your attention. We have a cat that will lick your ears and then your eyelids in the mornings to wake us up.

This is not much of an answer but you can try putting pieces of regular scotch tape forming a small loop and put down these pieces of tape all around your key board and mouse. Cats hate for their paws to get sticky.

There is a few answers to your problem. One is to drug you cat. I recommend cianide (you know, the deadly poisin). Once he/ she is dead, burry the body somewere so that no one can pin it on you. If you cant find any common brand poison, then I highly recomend a pistol of any kind. Then just do step two the same. If those first two don't work (unlikely), just grab a knife form the kitchen and stab thouroghly. And if, by some wicked, cruel twist of fate, you parents have all the knives safely locked away, then you cat should somehow "acidentaly" get out, never to be seen again.
