I have a fish that has been lying on it's side at the bottom of the tank for most of the day. I tried poking him earlier but he hasn't moved.. I know that they go into a catatonic state when sleeping but just getting a little worried about him now. He's not shon any symptoms of illness.

I'm looking to switch my cat's food from Special Kitty urinary tract food. My cat has recently been diagnosed with allergies. My vet recommended changing his food. I'm a little weary of not getting the urinary formula food seeing how two of my male cats had UTI's in the past from not feeding them the right type of food. This brand was recommended on the petco website but I'm not sure whether I should try it or not.

I posted a question (a few actually) about getting a dog from a rescue centre, and the advice i was given was priceless. I have been today, walked 3 dogs, who were lovely, but i followed advice from you lovely dog owners, and knew what to look for, and how i would know i had found the one! I have just come back from an RSPCA kennels, and i have found my pup!!! She is a Border Collie, 18 months old, tri colour, totally adorable!!! partially trained, (she has spent time in a family, worked full time, could not keep her)I walked her, she is so lovable, and has a beatuiful nature, i am getting home visit tomorrow, to do the paperwork, so i can collect my new pet. She sits on command, and loves her tummy to be tickled, housetrained, and car trained, i am so excited at getting her, and THANKYOU all, who helped me, and advised me, and knew i would know instantly, when i found my new pet!!

Recently our Golden has become aggressive while eating. It was my intention to be able to have a family dog and never worry about his behavior. While watching him eat, he was rapidly devouring his puppy chow and to slow him down I have been making him sit and stay before eating it all. When I pet him to make him stop and command sit, he low growls and then will curl his nose a bit. I do not want an aggressive dog and want to make sure he knows that eating is no excuse for this behavior. I have him learning new commands like sit, stay, lay, etc...and he will come and walk off a leash for me, but it seems this is a problem I can not quite conquer. I called a vet and they said they'd give me a packet of info which is nice, but has anyone had a similar experience? If so please let me know what you chose to do. I'm wondering if he's being fed enough food, almost 4 cups (8 mo old 75 lbs) of a high quality food.

She is on day number 61 or 62 today, and her whelping area has been set up for a few weeks. She has been sleeping in it, until now. 36 hours ago, her temp spiked to 102, and I had been graphing it at between 100 and 101, and then about 24 hours ago, it dropped to between 98 and 99 and stayed there for 6 hours before climbing to what has been the norm. Does this happen often?

Also, she has had a clear colorless discharge for about a week. I have read so many different things about how long this can go on, that I am unsure what to believe. Today, it was more cloudy and mucus like.

She has been staring at her butt and licking it for the past 24-36 hours more than the norm and has chosen now to not be in her whelping box, but rather under the christmas tree digging at the tree skirt. She comes out when I call her and then coax her back into her whelping box, but immediately goes under the tree when I am gone. I think that she is determined to give us an early present there!

I bought a RES from the pet store a couple days ago, and from what I can't tell he is not eating his turtle pellets. I don't want him to get sick. His tank is at about 76 and he has a basking area and light. I don't know what else to do.

Cat starts meowing at 3am everyday. If wife not home their is no problem. We tried feeding him, he would eat, then start meowing again, we tried spray bottle, he just goes further in distance and meows louder. We close the door to the bedroom, he bangs on the door with his body. It seems that he just wants my wife up every morning. How can I break this habbit of his, the cage just becomes more of a problem. He is de-clawed front and back, so can't put outside. He has never been outside since birth, except for balcony.

I just got an angora sweater as a gift and am feeling really hesitant to wear it knowing that it is made from rabbit hair. I would make me feel a little better to keep it if I knew that the rabbits were at least not killed to make the sweater.

last night on the news there was an article about a new generation of mixed breeding, i saw something called a labradoodle, part labrador retriever, and part french poodle. needless to say i was disgusted. if you live in indianapolis and were watching fox 59 news at 10 you probably saw this article. what do you think of this. i think it's an abomination

Because I have a maltese dog she is about 4 years old and I am not sure if it would be ok to feed her Iams puppy food....but I usually feed her eukanuba (not sure how it is spelled) dog food and thats what I am supposed to feed her but she seems not to like it and she won't eat it! So what am I supposed to feed her besides that?

A dog is out of the question (my mother would never allow animal hair on her furniture). So is a cat (I'm allergic). Rabbits are also not an option (they need a few hours of playtime outside of the cage each day, but I work full-time, and nobody is at home during the day, so the rabbit would probably get bored and lonely and depressed).

What other pets could I get? What about a hamster or a gerbil... which one is "better"? Or what about a guinea pig?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
