I use Royal Canin Perisan Formula #30. It is great for maintaining coat, easy for the cats to chew, has preventives for hairballs and takes total cat health into consideration.
I also use the Royal Canin Baby Cat formula for one of my old guys who, because he is 20, began to have a hard time keeping weight on. Their digestive tracts are just like people's. Less efficient with age.
I love Royal Canin. You won't be sorry. Smaller stools, hardly any odor, and the don't eat as much of it, because it is so jam packed full of nutrition. It would be worth a try for you. Just remember to begin by gradually mixing it in with what you are using and increasing it over about a week, until it is all Royal Canin.

I was looking at the Royal Canin food the other day. I have found that you can go to www.petfooddirect.com and pull up a bag of any food to read the ingredient label. It's not a food that I have seen in the pet stores around where I live.
It did seem good in the sense that it uses a human-grade meat source. In choosing a dry food for my cats I look for the first TWO ingredients being a high-grade meat source, then a grain. The RC has first as meat and then followed by two different kinds of grains so I would pass that by. There are a lot of options now in good foods so I stick to my preference - the less grain or filler the better.
Certainly you have received many positive responses about using this food and I would go with that. When my Siamese was having bladder problems I was starting a raw meat diet for my cats. That diet brought his urine into the right range for cats (ph around 6.5 - slightly acid). He never had a further problem. He never ate any more dry food.

I agree with the first response. Royal Canin is the best cat food ive tried and my cat seems to think so too, she used to throw up the other kinds of food i would try and now she rarely if ever throws up. Also the litter box doesnt smell near as bad. This food is a little more expensive but well worth it because your cat will eat less and in the end will probably end up costing the same amount as the cheaper cat food because you will be buying it less often.

I've only used Royal Canin for a puppy, but as far as I know it's good quality food. Cats can be completely finicky eats. I remember was had a cat one time would liked moist food, but it had to be the "shredded" kind, and it had to be served on a plate, not in his dish, and he didn't want all of it, just some of it. You could try mixing the moist and the dry food, or putting a little broth over the dry to make it a little more exciting. And I had another cat who would only drink his water if it was in a glass (like a people glass), or if he could drink it straight from the running faucet. Who knows what she's going to like, but be careful with all the switching of food that you're doing. It could give her an upset stomach. Good luck to you!

I feed my neutered male cat RC's feline control formula and am very happy with it. The vet recommended it after one urinary blockage and he's been fine ever since. He seems to like the taste and the other answerer was right about it being good in terms of the litter box!

The entire royal canin line is of high quality, so I think this one should be good for your cat (I don't have any siamese, so I've never used this one specifically). I volunteer with a cat shelter, and we use the royal canin kitten for our itty bitties (the pieces are smaller) and some of the adult foods for our finnickier cats (everyone else gets Nutro Max), and they all like it.
