My male sherpei is almost a year old. Due to unexpected circumstances my husband and I have not been able to work on obidience training with him like we should have. He does however get lots of love and attention. Also due to those unexpected circumstances we do not have the money to take him to classes. All in all he is a good dog but, everytime we open our gate he bolts. If he comes when I call him I tell him "good boy" and pet him; as I don't want him to be afraid to come when called but then he bolts again. Most of the time we have to pick him up and carry him inside. This is not easy, he is getting big. Tonight he tried to nip at me more than once when I was carrying him back in. What can I do?

She is being mean to my other dogs. She will see them go to the food, and growl at them. My other dogs are losing whight because of this.
What is the best way to deal with this without hurting her. I have tryed to feed her away from the others. It does not work because my other dogs are afraid to eat.

I love my little girl cat, Ebony, who is just over a year old, so much that sometimes I worry about it! If anything happened to her it would kill me and yet I know that in all likelihood I will outlive her and will therefore have to go through a terrible bereavement one day. Is it normal to be this attached?!

i just got a 10 year old thoroughbred gelding (he isn't really hyper like some thoroughbreds. he's just calm and nice) who needs to put on a little weight. he has some arthritis in his knees (we give him a suppliment from that) and has lost alot of muscle because of the arthritis. i feed him 1 coffee can in the morning 1/2 can at lunch and 1 can at dinner. oat corn mix. he eats 3 flakes of hay at night and go's out and eats grass all day. he also lacks shine in his coat. is there anything (inexspensive) that i could gave him for that? he is up to date on shots and wormer.

If it came down to it would you agree to a neuteral spay and neuter law that applied to all dog breeds but required people who owned Pit type dogs to purchase a heafty license to breed and they could only breed if the dog was show or working, such as weight pull or hunting or confirmation?
of course the law could not be governed by a body of board members it would have to be something drawn up and final that could not be ammended later for some politician with a personnel agenda.
Do you think it would help our breed if this happened?

My kitten has buggers beside it's eye (originally thought it was sleep, but is consistantly coming back). Also there is fluid/liquid below his eye. I think he might have alergies or some kind of eye infection.

What could it be and how can I help my kitten?

Thanks,

Ben

Its a girl, and she is about four years old now, but I have never seen her eat her shell like she has been doing recently. She eats the old piece of shell that she has grown out of.

I already have a Paint turtle, and I love him. I thought he needed a friend, so I bought a baby Razor Back Musk. Then I found out they can smell bad and have very long necks, and could easily take a finger off. Is a Mississippi Map turltle a good choice, as far as making friends with other turtles and people? I want 2 different kinds of turtles as pets. I will really enjoy them. I don't want to give the Razor back up, but either do I want to lose a finger or two. Please help. I have a choice of a Red Ear Slider, Yellow Belly Cooter, Golf Coast Soft Shell, Fla.Soft Shell, Razor Back Musk, or a Southern Paint. Which would be my best bet? It will have to have the same enviroment as my Paint turtle. Thanks for your input.

My 14 year old 58 pound baby messed up his knee and the other leg is weak already from being old .He can only take three steps at a time .I took him to the vet today and the vet said that alot of older dogs dont benifit from surgery and he gave me meds and an injection. My dog has never needed pain killers and I am glad that I am just now having to use them .My question is does it get better in time ? Pain wise does it get better? If anyone has any experience with this problem please tell me everything you know.I am not worried about spending money .I would spend any amount for my dog .My dog is really old and I want him to be comfortable and happy .Any advise?I know that this is permanant and the leg will never be the same but will the pain go down?

I have a poodle and he's like seven months old or so.
He just learned how to go up the stairs.
When I came home, I went belistic (sp?). I yelled at the top of my lungs and told him to look at what he did. He wanted to lick me and i just gave him the cold shoulder. Then I yelled again. He trashed me whole room, everything is all over the floor. Im pretty messy but he took it to a whole new level. Anyways, I yelled at him again and he started shaking and looked at me really scared. I felt really bad when he did that and I hugged him and played with him outside. Am I in the wrong? I didn't hit him or anything. I just yelled at him, but now, after seven hours have past, I still feel really bad about it and I want to go hug him again if he wasnt sleeping.
