I have a 20 gallon tank, stocked as follows:
1 swordtail
1 molly
1 pleco
2 glass catfish
3 brilliant rasboras
4 ghost shrimp

I'm wondering how often I ought to do water changes (25%). Also, when I do water changes, what do I need to do to make the water safe for my fish? My tap water is extremely hard, and contains lots of chemicals. I have a PUR filter on the tap -- does that make the water safe for fish, or do I have to take other steps?

me fish looks dead and it stays at the bottom of the tank. i move the net because it moves to attack the net but it just stayes there

Here are my questions:

1.) How big should it be? (Nothing over 110 gallons please. I'd like to keep it small.)

2.) Should I get goldfish or koi?

3.) How many goldfish or koi should I put in?

4.) What should I do with the fish in the winter? It gets freezing cold up here in Northern Illinois... should I get a large heater, or put them inside?

5.) What should I feed them?

6. Any more info?

I'm thinking of making a set of LED lights that I can mount to my fishtank to act as spotlights. How safe are LEDs when they get wet? Is there a way to use them underwater? Finally, what's the best way to power them? I'm thinking of using a PC power supply, but suggestions will be welcome.

I am going to name my dog-to-be Sallie. She is a black lab. (By the way this is Rufus)

My dog is so annoying, she always barks in the middle of the night! and at nothing! She runs away all the time and doesnt come back until late at night... She is a REBEL dog... I know this will sound wierd. I have 2 female cats, black and white (shown in my display pic). I have had them for about 5 months. I tried to name them. Any other pet I had named itself by personality. These won't. I can't name them something that doesn't suit them. Maybe I'm trying too hard. Or maybe a few suggestions would help. Thanks.

We have two boxers: 2 year old female and 4 year old male. We got the famale a few months before the male. The female barks in the male's face when we first come in the house, when they are first let outside and when they are first brought back inside, but other than that she is fine. I have a male, nuetered, 8 year old cat. He is known to get into scuffles with other cats in the neighborhood. He has never gotten an abcess from any cat bite... Recently we have been finding burst abcesses under his armpit, any takes on this? The vet said he really doesnt know the cause that it "happened". Im not so sure Second opinion please? Lol

I want a dog but i have never had one before (don't worry i have done tons of research on how to care for/train dogs) i would prefer a teeny tiny doggie i like mini dogs alot, I don't mind grooming it but i don't want one difficult to groom. my youngest sibling is 2,my oldest 14, i am 12, any suggestions?

Up until 2 days ago (today's date 11-02-06), my dog started back eating her food. She's been refusing/not eating her food for about a week. Her tities are getting bigger towards her groin, her nipples are huge right now and I can manage to get what looks like milk out of them. She does have vaginal discharge/bleeding. Light pink in color and she's licking constantly. She's very tender under the belly, very affectionate and protective of me. This is my first experience ever with a pet becoming pregnant. My dog is also due for her immunizations, will this affect her pregnacy? There are two strays that keep coming around the house, she is an outside dog, comes in at nights. Is there a way to distinguish which dog got to her??? I know this question is kindof odd but.....
