If your cage is small and the conure is used to being out, he/she may choose not to poop in the cage. They seem to hold it till they get out. If you conure is not pooping at all TAKE TO VET, the bird is sick. My birds seem to wait till they get out in the morning and the first poop would not shame an ostrich. My birds have not been trained and they will poop anywhere else except the cage if they can help it. My birds only sleep in the cage.

I live and care for somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 birds of various types, including dozens of conures. They ALL poop in their cages. The only birds that don't poop in their cages are the ones trained not to.

No, that is not true. Both of my Conures poop in and on their cages. You can train them to eliminate in a specific area but that takes time.

Why do you ask?
