I know this will sound wierd. I have 2 female cats, black and white (shown in my display pic). I have had them for about 5 months. I tried to name them. Any other pet I had named itself by personality. These won't. I can't name them something that doesn't suit them. Maybe I'm trying too hard. Or maybe a few suggestions would help. Thanks.

Well, you could do the color names: Salt & Pepper, Cotton, Snowball, Midnight, that sort of thing. We have a black cat named Onyx. The mom had 5 black kitties. The new owners named them Oreo, Boo Boo Kitty, Magic & Lucious. The last one has a black brother named Salem.

I've had other cats named for things they liked. Sunflower ate sunflower seeds, Chewy liked chewing on things. Two of the kittens that hadn't found homes for a while were called Boy & Girl for a few months.

HOpe that gives you some ideas.

When I have two animals, I always like to name them two things that go together: Antony & Cleopatra, Marquette & Joliette, Lewis & Clark, Watson & Crick.

Generally these sets of names tend to be male/female or two males, but there are some female or non-specific pairs (depending on how old you are, you might not recognize some of these pairs - the reference is in parantheses): Kate & Allie (TV show), Thelma & Louise (movie), Frenchie & Rizzo (Grease), Itchy & Scratchy (The Simpsons), Rosencrantz & Guildenstern (Romeo & Juliet), Ebony & Ivory (song title), Flotsom & Jetsom (The Little Mermaid), Laverne & Shirley (TV show), Paris & Nicole (Simple Life), Venus & Serena (Tennis).

Finally, just some other pairs: Salt & Pepper, Peaches & Cream, Oreo & Milk, Yin & Yang, Smoke & Mirrors, Macaroni & Cheese.

Good Luck!

I have 2 cats that are black and white also. They are brother and sister believe it or not! I've been thinking of some cool names. They are yin/yang and bada/boom, however they ended up just getting some names that described their personality! The boy (white) is named Forte (strong in Italian) and the girl is Audaz (fearless in Spanish). What I'm trying to say is that in the end they are just going to have to be what their personality dictates!

You could name them after some big cousins:
Panther & Puma
Cougar & Lynx

Or after their colour:
Tux & Edo (I think that sometimes B&W cats are called Tuxedo)
Penguin & Puffin
Zebra & Badger
Domino & Dice
Magpie & Warbler

Or just some girlie (?) names:
Chelsea & Lulu
Tiffany & Fifi
Louise & Mabel

After sweet things:
Jelly & Custard
Honey & Jam
Flower & Blossom

After Godesses:
Bastet & Isis (Egyptian)
Ishtar & Lilith (Mesapotamia)
Sulis & Brigid (Celtic)
Freya & Sol (Germanic)
Gaia & Athena (Greek)

Plus there's a site that has names for cats:

Hope you find something that you (& they) like otherwise they might be known as 'you two' or 'my two' for a long time ... maybe that a final suggestion? (lol)

You can name them something crazy that doesn't look like them at all, like a favorite food of yours. You can also name them a name you love. You don't always have to name on personality, just think of random words and one might stick.

My grand son has a black and white cat that he calls Oreo and he says that is because it is black and white just like him and he likes Oreo cookies. I guess you could name the other one salt and pepper, or tangent. Anything you like would be acceptable.

Try "Had I" and "But Known"
or after famous actresses or actors
Sopie, Talulah, Bogey, Becall

I have a Puss Puss, Muff Muff, Kakey Wakey, Bonzo Beenz, Izzy aka Fuzz Butt... the names will come, just be patient.
