Who frickin' decides what the breed standard is? All these supposed "lovers of dogs"? Who do it purely for the love and not for all the cash? And their the first ones to cry out against puppy farms(which I DO NOT ADVOCATE)but should they not bear some of the responsibilty?(Sure hurts their market share, doesnt it?) I mean hell, its a profitable racket, isnt it? Who made it that way? They dont carry or birth the pups themselves? So why do purebred animals cost so incredibly much money??????????????????????????????? Is it not enough to provide them with loving homes? And the margin is sickening. You can get a fully spayed/neutered and vaccinated dog from one of the hundreds of thousands of animal shelters around the world for less than a hundred US dollars. So these "papered" dogs are worth ten times as much? Feel free to disagree, I would love a genuine reason for this phenomenom? Why ounce for ounce some dogs are worth more than GOLD?

I tried feeding her boiled chicken after I noticed she didn't want to eat her puppy food (Iams brand). She loves the chicken but it gave her diaherrea. So I stopped giving her chicken. Now it's worse, she won't even consider eating dog food at all. HELP.

I have a year old male cat who's fixed and declawed. I keep his litter box clean and have not changed his litter brand. He has never done this before. And there are no changes to his environment. I don't understand why he's doing this. And I'm tired of scrubbing the carpet everyday. I can never catch him doing it so I can take him to the box. It's very frustrating.

I asked earlier about a bird (bigger than a robin..sort of the size of a blackbird). Snow white head and neck area. Blackish back with white splotches. I live in Atlantic Canada. Never saw such a bird before and have been looking all over the internet and see no birds that look like it at all. Bill was similar to a blackbird I would suggest..did not see the bird for an extended period of time. Was hopping around my back yard.

Well we just got a new cat last week. Her foster mom told me to keep her in one room for a week to get her used to the new house scent. Well its been a week, so this morning we let her out. Now all she does is run around like crazy, and if you approach her she runs away! She used to be so affectionate and loving, but now it seems like she can't do anything but run around! Is this normal? What should I do?

I am thinking of getting neon tetras for my community fish tank. I have 2 Giant Danios, 2 Bala Sharks, and a few other large fish. When I put 4 snakeskin guppies in this tank, and they were eaten, but I put 4 other guppies, and they were even smaller, and they were'nt Eaten.

I'm allergic to cats, but I really want a small, low-maintainance pet. Anybody know of any animals that one wouldn't normally think about to get as a pet?

I have a female pigeon that I aquired as a rescue bird 5 years ago when she was (unfortunately) shot out of the sky as a young bird. She is currently an indoor bird living with another female pigeon. Since she sustained extensive injuries, it is a very traumatic experience for her to lay eggs (She often cannot put any weight on her legs for a few days before and after, and often appears to be in a good amount of pain). Our vet has put her on calcium suppliments to help, and suggested that I do anything I could to prevent her from laying eggs. I have tried leaving the eggs with her, but after a little while they get broken and must be removed. Everytime I touch her eggs, she is very reluctent to return to sitting on them, so I haven't had much luck replacing them with fake eggs. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop or slow her from laying eggs? Or can anyone tell me how to replace her actual eggs with fake ones so that she will accept them as hers? Thanks.
