Can't you offer to pay extra rent and keep the dog? Otherwise when you see your landlord coming or if you know what time he is coming take the dog for a walk.

If you have to get rid of it I would place an ad for a good home. The Humane Society will take animals for a period of time before they decide to euthanize them if no one wants them. You can ask them to call you before they do that so that you can get him back and try again.

ps - why would you have ever considered getting a dog when you live in a place that doesn't allow dogs?

talk to your land lord if you can convince him that you are a good tenant and renew or modify your rental agreement with him then you may be able to keep your dog.

Many landlords have a no dog policy due to bad experiences so you must show them that you are not the same as other pet owners they have dealt with. show them the veterinary vaccination certificate and any training/ temperment tests you may have for your pitbull as well as making sure you pick up any messes your dog makes outside and in the house, etc. this will go a long way to allowing your dog to stay with you. by showing a landlord tha you are a responsible tenant and pet owner you may change his mind about his no pet policy. if not then find one that will allow your pitbull, and do the responsible thing for your pitbull and your self.

How long before someone notices a pitbull???? Pretty smart!!!
Why get a puppy you know you are not allowed to have?????? Not very fair to the pup is it?? Get the dog and then have to get rid of it when you are discovered.
Another sad case!!!

Yeah...the landlord is a jerk!!!! Why, because he does not want a building full of pitbulls????? There are rules!!! You sign a lease when you move in!!!!! That makes YOU the jerk since you cannot follow the rules!!!!!

I would`nt say, "poor puppy". More like "ignorant renter". The "jerk" is the owner of the property and it is one of his rules and you come off as someone that knowingly violates a trust because you don`t want to honor an agreement. You probably try to get over on people to suit yourself and to hell with what is right and honest. I`d boot your *** out in a heartbeat. The landlord is probably coming over to "try" and collect the rent of which you are two months behind. Get mad all you want but you can`t hide from the truth. To those that tell you to hide the dog, nothing but dishonest morons.

Do you have family or friends that could take her for awhile? I had the same problem years ago, and when my landlord was coming I would take the dog some where for the day. Like an all day at the park or visiting. We only lived there for a short time until our house was built, but if he ever found the dog or showed up unexpected I told him I was watching the dog for a few hours while my brother was shopping.

Well what you can do is let a friend have her for the day and bring up somethink like oh someone i know who has a puppy and see if they will let you pay a deposit for having her, and if that doeant work advertise her or take her to the humain society but i would try putting up signs at local vets becuse someone is not going to pass her up!

I've had a friend come over and say they were walking the dog and stopped by.

I hid my kitten until the day I moved no problem. Basically if maintenance came by, I said "oh, I'm kitten-sitting." The worst they'd say was "well, you can't do that anymore."

Good luck!
