I was interested in them. I wanted to know how much they cost, if they shed alot and if they require alot of maintenance. My neighbor has a mix of a Shitzu and a Poodle and it doesnt shed much.

I have had to do that today and both me and my husband are devestated.
My dog was 14 years whch is a great age i know but, we both feel so upset, and feel the house is so empty without him around as he was a fantastic dog.
We have 2 other dogs, who keep looking for him and cant settle as hes not around.
If you have been in the same situation, how did u cope?
Can you give me any info that u feel might help us come to terms with this?

Thanks for your help

My dog was a healthy, happy little dog, suddenly got very sick and died 3 days later. I had brought her to an animal clinic where the vet did everything to save her. I am devastated, because she was a sweet dog who caused no one any harm. She was with me since she was 10 weeks old. I heard a report today on msnbc about contaminated dog food from a company in SC, selling it under the name Diamond and other names. It is highly poisonous and causes the dogs to suffer terrible liver damage. Are there others here who recently went through the same thing? I men, I fed her dog food that was supposed to be safe--and in the end it killed her. I wonder if I can find people who also lost their doggie to contaminated pet food and if they would be interested in filing a Class A lawsuit against this company. Please e-mail me directly to:

i cant believe how many people r asking life threatening questions about ther pets. if u cant afford a vet then u really shouldn't have a pet. maybe this sounds preachy or something but its just unreal some of the questions that r aked. does anyone agree with me?

The dog is just turned a year old, this morning we find that she has all these little bumps on her - they seemed to spread as the morning progressed but are not causing any discomfort as she isn't fussing at them and has normal energy levels.

A woman at a shop suggested she had hives and added that giving her an antihistamine like Benadryl would ease it. We did give her one tablet and for about an hour and half most of them went away. They are now coming back. Still, there is no scratching and biting.

There's been no change in diet, no change in detergents that we wash her linens in. No new products have been introduced to her environment. We are doing work around the house and as it involves drywall there is a lot of dust. But we've doing this work for a week and there were no earlier symptoms of this.

Aside from the vet (emergency ones are really busy right now) are there any home remedies? How much more Benadryl can I give her in a day?

I have two 7 wk old kittens. I am concerned because all they do is nurse from mama cat and drink milk from a saucer. They won't eat any solids. Their sibling, who was adopted a couple of days ago, ate solid food just fine at around 5 wks. These two, however, won't touch their food. Should I just let it go? I'm concerned because mama cat has started to neglect them, as is her instinct..they'll be 8 wks on Monday.

Wanted to get a Brussels Griffon that fell through, cute dogs but little more happy go lucky that we like, after researching a little more decided on either Mini Schnauzer which we have owned previous or a Chihuahua also have been around them, can't choose between the two though, would like opinions please?

I think her previous owner abused her. Yesterday night, my sister brought her home so we would take care of her because the person that bought her didnt want her anymore. My chi (her actual brother) bosses her around, even though he is smaller. We're going to sell her soon because they don't get along. Any suggestions on how to deal with her low-self esteem?

Go check out this site and read (http://petsitusa.com/blog/?p=115)! What a sad world we live in when someone that saves a dog's life gets arrested and the dog abusers don't even get a fine!!! Then go vote for Tammy as animal hero of the year at:

I'm thinking about raising a puppy for an orginazation that trains guide dogs for the blind, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this and can give me any info or advice. I tend to get rather attached to animals, so I know I would have trouble giving it up at the end, but I think it would be a good experience, and it would allow me to have a pet for a while without giving a long term commitment.
