I was interested in them. I wanted to know how much they cost, if they shed alot and if they require alot of maintenance. My neighbor has a mix of a Shitzu and a Poodle and it doesnt shed much.

I think you mean a Bichon Frise (which Bichon would be pronounced as Bejong).

I have one - I got him from a rescuer. He is an apricot bichon - which I've been lead to believe the breeder felt he was a "black sheep" probably breeding for show and mating -- and therefore instead of murdering him (like I've been told so many breeders do) she dropped him off at a rescuer's door.

My husband is allergic to most dogs - that is why we love the Bichon. Yes, if you wear black you will see hairs on your clothes - but he is not a real shedder. He was 4 years old last May, and hasn't made hubby sneeze once!

If this is the breed you mean - you will adore him/her. They wake up every day to greet it. They make everyone fall in love with them - and they will love you unconditionally.

Do you mean Bichon? If it is a Bichon Frise you are referring too, they don't shed much at all, but they do need daily combing or else they will matt if you keep them in a longer coat. If you choose to keep it clipped short, you could probably get by with weekly combing. These dogs need to go to a groomer about every 6 - 8 wks or so, unless you learn how to groom them yourself.

As for cost, it depends on where you live, they could range from $400 - $1000
