My dog was a healthy, happy little dog, suddenly got very sick and died 3 days later. I had brought her to an animal clinic where the vet did everything to save her. I am devastated, because she was a sweet dog who caused no one any harm. She was with me since she was 10 weeks old. I heard a report today on msnbc about contaminated dog food from a company in SC, selling it under the name Diamond and other names. It is highly poisonous and causes the dogs to suffer terrible liver damage. Are there others here who recently went through the same thing? I men, I fed her dog food that was supposed to be safe--and in the end it killed her. I wonder if I can find people who also lost their doggie to contaminated pet food and if they would be interested in filing a Class A lawsuit against this company. Please e-mail me directly to:

I have not had that terrible experience, but I did hear on one of my husbands hunting channels that Diamond was being sued, class action, because so many dogs have died from this contaminated food. I was under the impression that it had something to do with the chicken filler in it.
I'm fairly sure it was the Outdoor Channel on Dish Net, you might e-mail them and ask them about the law suite.
I'm sorry for your loss and you're right to sue them. But next time I think I'd stick with Iam's or Purina dog food.

If they are vomiting and have diarrhea, it may be parvo virus. I had a puppy who died from that and it was awful! It is HIGHLY contagious, and if one of your puppies had it you need to clean EVERYTHING. Make sure to get your dogs vaccinated against it 4 times when they are puppies (up to 1 year) then a yearly booster each year after. I do know that cat food is bad for dogs, just like chocolate, but I don't think it would have that much of an immediate effect. The mushrooms probably arnt good for them either. Keep the dogs away from the cat food, mushrooms, & get their shots!

I'm sorry for your lost...

I rarely fed my dog with canned food, I usually cook - boiled chicken heart, for them... I don't know the availability and how much it cost in other country, but in my place - Indonesia, it's easy to look and cheap.
But the most important is that it is healthy for dogs...

I hope that you'll get over it soon and will meet a new loving one again soon...

Bless You

I am so sorry to hear that you lost your dog.
I know how much they mean to a person.
I have two myself and have lost others before.
I prefer to use purina brands and iams.
So with that said I think I would ask the vet to see what killed your dog.
Then if it was the food I would get a attorney and start a lawsuit.
Again I am really sorry for your loss.

My dog died of natural causes and I was devestated. I can't imagine how you must feel losing your puppy like this. Sue those doggie killers! I'm so sorry for your loss.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Keep those sugarless treats out of Fido's reach. Veterinarians warned on Friday that a
commonly used sweetener might cause liver failure in dogs, and perhaps even kill them.
Xylitol, a naturally occurring product, is found in many sugar-free chewing gums, candies, baked goods and toothpastes.
Do you give your dog Xylitol?
