Whenever I try to vaccuum our floors, my dog gets very stressed. Any ideas on how to help him overcome this fear?

Many dogs are "traumatised" ever since they've experienced the vacuum being turned on. So when u're not vacuuming, just leave ur vacuum cleaner out maybe in ur living room or bedroom or wherever with ur dog and scatter dog treats all around the vacuum (both near and further away from the vacuum). Dogs being dogs will "take the risk" and go for the treats as long as they think it's pretty safe. Do this for awhile (might take days) until ur dog doesn't even mind being next to the vacuum, then with treats scatter around (far and near) the vacuum as usual, turn it on (not really vacuuming ur house yet, just letting ur dog get used to the sound of the vacuum) and he should start trying to eat the treats from further away from the vacuum and eventually brave enuf to move closer (again might take days) once they realise its not a threat.

But if ur dog is so stressed that he attacks the vacuum, try the above method, if it still doesn't work, then u need 2 ppl for this. You start vacuuming, while the other person has the dog on leash. When the dog starts going nuts, the other person should pull him away to another room when he can't see the vacuum and once he calms down bring him in again until he goes nuts again and keep repeating the same thing and he will realise the vacuum is not a threat and will eventually calm down.

ignore about her and vacuum without paying her any interest. in case you commence fussing about her, you'll in simple terms be sure her idea that there is a few thing suspicious about the vacuum purifier. same challenge is going with loud noises. even as no longer vacuuming you could paintings on desensitizing her. enable the vacuum stay outdoors on your residing room or everywhere else that the canines has get entry to to and ignore about it. For different loud sounds, you could purchase a particular practise CD or make your individual sounds to coach her. commence with a noise so low that she would not pay interest to it and play with her/distract her for a lengthy time period, then steadily up the quantity even as you play with her/distract her. If she shows any indicators of concern, you've lengthy gone ahead too instantly and also you want to take the academic and noise element again to the position she's smooth with it. this may take weeks/months, so taking it slowly is the way ahead.

As far as I know, all dogs hate the vacuum cleaner. My hearing isn't even that great and I hate the sound of the vacuum so I can only imagine how it might sound to a dog.
