I have told him that banging on things won't get her to stop, it will only get her to bark more. His response was, "Then get 'em to shut the ^$&# up." I live on 1.5 acres, he lives on 2.5 acres. There is a buffer of 150 feet of solid trees between our yards, we can't even see each other. He works outside quite a bit, and I know her "puppy bark" (7 months old) can be annoying, but I don't see an end to the cycle. It is unrealistic of me to expect my neighbor to change, so what can I do to change my dog's reaction to his behavior? One option I will not consider is keeping her in the house all the time. She needs her exercise and fresh air. I have .75 acres fenced off for the pups to run, which they enjoy. I have three other dogs, but they don't bark very much, as they are familiar with all of the "neighborhood noises" and don't respond to it. I have had my new pup 2 months. Any suggestions or ideas that have worked for you?

I've only had my male since 8/10/06, and he turns 6 months old on 9/9/06. I believe he and my female mated this morning 8/27/06. Is he too young, to produce fertile sperm?

I've heard from various people that a protein skimmer can't be used with a freshwater tank, why is this? My understanding is that a protein skimmer takes out waste and helps keep the water crystal clear. I don't see how that's bad for freshwater fish, unless they need the waste in the water to keep a balance in the tank.

I'm planning a week long trip. What and how does your beta eat when you have no one to feed them.

So here's what he has programmed in his little brain.
My dad - Feeds me the goodies and lets me out all the time. Come to ONLY him when I'm called
My mom - Lets me out in the mornings, feeds me, and more boring stuff..
My brother - Lets me hang with him in his room, and pets me all the time..
Me (Paige) - We wrestle all the time. She feeds me, and pets me. And plays with me. Never go to her when she calls me.

So there it is. He loves everyone but me. Or so I think. How can I make him come to me when I call him?? It just makes me so jealous that he comes to my dad when he calls him. But not me. It makes me so angry and sad. Please help!

The pit started peeing on the baby's belongings, like her stroller, boune seat and crib. My friend had the dog way before the baby was ever born.

My two bichon frise mix dogs were attacked five days ago by two 90-lb. golden retriever/Australian shepherd dogs. One of my pups was severely bitten in three spots. She is recovering physically, but is extremely traumatized. She is hiding behind furniture and in closets, coming out only for food and water. Today she snapped at her mate when he came too close for comfort. How do I deal with this obviously frightened, hypersensitive dog? FYI: she has always been nervous and a little high-strung, but also playful and loving. I think she is still is quite a bit of pain from the attack. Thanks to anyone who has suggestions.
