Yes they do. But personally I think it's dumb. But the only people I have seen do this is celebrities. It probably would be hard to find a grooming place willing to do it and it probably would cost alot of money. But I don't think anyone should do that to their pet...they are all cute they way they were born!

Yeah, they do.
I once saw an article online about a group of people who all dyed their dogs and cats fur insane colours, with patterns, ribbons and bows to boot.
Some people just have too much time on their hands.
I guess it's okay, so long as the animal isn't suffering at all.

I have never heard of such a thing and I have never met a cat that would stand for it. Lucy C. Tabby (my cat) gives me such a fight I can barely cut her toenails.
If it does happen I hope the people who do it grow fur all over their bodies. Somethings are just not right.

I have friends who dye their white cat every easter with easter egg dye - she always looks like a pastel rainbow. The cat doesn't seem to mind. Since it is food grade, it won't harm the cat, especially with their meticulous cleaning. The most harm may come to your house if your cat is not patient and will not sit still...

yes! i actually bought a book on it because i thought it looked neat. i would never do it to my cats, but it has actually been done for hundreds of years. in the middle east cats that live in mosks are decorated with henti paintings and in japan cats are dyed to play parts in stage plays. one man in the states used to dye glasses on his cat's eyes because the cat was blind. sometimes it is used to help the cat, sometimes people are just wierd, sometimes they use it for art. evidently it is a big practice in africa too. i never did get to read all of the book.
they use non-toxic dye.
oh, and one dude lets cancer patients add to his cats markings, i don't remember what volunteer group he's with, but i thought that was kinda cool.

my friend once put wash out pink dye on her cat, dog and rats ears.
pets do not have our 'resistance' to dying, and will most likely feel very uncomfortable if you use permanant dye on them.
