my parents and me are deciding to get 1 for my b'day.I have lots of time to dedicate to the dog.

There is an abandoned cat in my complex. Bless its heart it is so skinny. I would like to bring it into my home so I can have it checked by a vet. I am a dog owner and am not sure the ins and outs of properly caring for a cat.Any good advice and does it matter what I give it until I can go get cat food.

I have a wonderful kitty cat, she is the nicest pet until I have visitors. When new people come into my house she hisses and swats at them. I do not understand why she is like this. She is the sweetest thing to her family members. I have never seen a cat act like this.

She already had her medication shot and oral medication for tapeworms and round worms, i got the shots like 2 days ago, but I had to pull a roundworm out of her ***. It was trying to go back inside when she pooped. Does the medication work? How long does it take? I need to take her back in 2 weeks for antoher one. I was just wondering if I need to de-worm her once a month because I heard you have to. Some one help me?! Advices please. <3

Just got two new kittens three days ago. This morning the male peed on our bed. He has been using the litter tray happily up to now, as has the female. My husband scoops as soon as it is used, and it seems clean and pleasant (for a litter tray). This morning our male cat started scratching around looking like he wanted to go, I popped him in the kitchen and he had a poop in the box, but as soon as he was let out of the kitchen he rushed to the bedroom and peed on our duvet. He hasn't been lonely, has had lots of attention, I don't think it is a bladder infection because he chose to go to the bedroom rather than being caught short. The only thing I can think of is his litter box - but as I say, it seems to be clean. We haven't changed his litter or his food.

HELP!!

second part: should it be illegal?
just wondering what the yahoo world thought. And please think about the question, I know the knee jerk reaction is to say yes to both, but think of the other sports out there which are considered cruel but are not illegal (bullfighting) and others that are not even considered cruel (rodeo, dog racing etc..). Well, to make a long story short, My elderly parents are tending this elderly dog. The dog will stay, so I and my mom have tried to do just that. On the whole, we do well. When it comes to ears and eyes, we tried several ways and none seem to work. Can you suggest something? also need tips on nail trimming. Thanks!

My Lhasa is biting himself continuosly and wounds himself.I bought some hot spot sprays and have sprayed on him,but he starts biting other parts of his body which doesn't have the spray on it. I have also used flea protection after his bath, but he still keeps doing it. is this a normal behavior for dogs to bite themselves or there is something wrong with my dog.what should i do.

Please let me know the ways to get rid of my shih tzu's bad breath. He is 3 years old and only eat dry food. For the past few months, he has a bad breath when he open his mouth but he is still very healthy. Any alternative way to get rid of his bad breath than going see doctor.

It's very difficult to clip my dog's nails... First of all, the quicks are very long, so there's not much to cut. And I don't want to try cutting the nail right up next to the quick b/c these nail clippers suck... They're basically just breaking the nail, not cutting it... I'm terrified of cutting the quick b/c I know if I do, my dog will scream so loudly, it'd give me a heart attack! xP I've cut them maybe 3 or 4 times before, and he's about 7 months old now. I just got done reading about nail clipping. I've read that if you clip the nail right up next to the quick, it will eventually recede and make it shorter, if you clip the nails every few days... But I can't clip it right up next to it. I've also read a big article and 'how to do' thing about dremiles (sp?). But it looked way too complicated, not to mention, I probably couldn't afford one. And the vet here is no professional. He just clips off the edges. And I don't know of any dog groomers... Hmm... Maybe PetSmart. ^_^

I raise them and if you do it right they are one of the most loyal and sweetest dogs to own. My 2yr old nephew can sit on their back and play with them. Not once did they ever try to hurt them. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners!!!!!
