We know for sure that its mom is gone cause we've been watching it for a while. we just fed him some kitten formula through a syringe and made a bad for him out of a shoebox. I think if its a boy i'm going to call him Moses so does anyone have anymore ideas on how to make Moses feel more comfortable?

Okay,

You need to get the kitten milk from your local pet supply store. You've already done that.

You also need to simulate the mother cat licking the kitten's bottom to stimulate it's bowels and urinary function! That is VERY IMPORTANT for the kitty's survival.

Use a warm wash cloth and pull a portion of it over you finger. Stroke very gently until the poo and pee are produced. Clean the kitty's behind with another part of the warm damp cloth.

Your kitty needs to be fed FOUR TIMES A DAY until he's about three weeks old. You could start feeding it canned kitten food as soon as it's little teeth come in. But keep feeding it the kitten replacement milk until he's about five weeks old.

I hand raised FIVE orphaned kittens this way and they all survived to adult cathood quite happily. It was work, but well worth it. By the time they COULD have been adopted out, I was so attached to them I kept them all!

Make sure that the bed is padded for comfort. If it is eating enough to go to the bathroom you might want to change the bedding every day. You might want to talk to a vet for a qood way to take care of the kitten. You may want to consider having a vet take a look at the kitten to see if the kitten is ok too. I think that if a vet takes a look at the kitten then you will be able to take care of the kitten better.

Good luck.

heating pad under the box for a heat source will maintain heat easier than a water bottle. Stimulate the bowels at least until 3 weeks old, and kitten milk replacer every 4 hours.

Little stuffed toy to sleep with seems to help them relax and settle down, I know it sounds silly but it does help!

It'll be a female, because they're more expensive to spay, Murphy's Law applies when you find a stray kitten! :) Good Luck!

Caring for a kitten this young is very demanding . You will need to put the kittens needs before your own.If you decide that you can handle the job of MOMMY talk to a vet and or follow the instructions of these people who all contributed their awesome answers and their LOVE . Good luck sweetie !

Heat. and feeding every two hrs. Don't forget to wipe his bottom with a warm, soft cloth to get him to pee, everytime you wake him to feed him, this must be done.. You are an ANGEL! tears are rolling down my face...How lucky you are to have each other.
Any vet will have formula enriched with nutrients...DO NOT MICROWAVE! it will kill the nutrients.Heat in water on the stove. I raised 5! Found them when their eyes were still closed and they ALL survived!! Good luck!

warm water bottle is a must.. if he is that young you will need to stimulate him to pee/poop by wiping his bottom with warm wet cotton balls

the only kitten fomula is KMR and is very expensive (they will not survive on the milk treat crap or real milk) - you need to bottle feed, really he should see a vet.. because little ones are very tough to raise without some body checking them first and offering help...
