I've tried pushing her into the down position but she thinks I'm going to hurt her and gets all worked up and yips. I've tried having her sit and then gently pulling her front feet forward and out from under her, but she pulls her feet away and stands up. I've also tried having her sit, and then holding a treat in front of her, but down near the floor so she has to hopefully get into the "down" position to get at it, but she stands up and tries to get it. I've also tried saying "Down. Good girl!" when she lays down on her own, but I think that method will take forever. Any suggestions for teaching "down" to a dog like mine who's a little antsy about being touched too much? Thanks.

I have a parakeet and I put newspaper in the bottom of her cage, and recently she has been chewing it up into little pieces. Why is she doing this? Thanks.

No sarcasm please. Give reasons for choosing the animal you did.

It's not like a solid lump; its more like a blister of skin and its only been there a few months. When she gets hot, runs about etc it seems to fill with fluid and get quite red. After about an hour of settling its almost empty, like a wee flap of skin.

Went to the vet and they looked puzzled; didnt think it was too serious though. its not filled with blood, just fluid.

if i want it investigated further that will involve tests and a fair bit of money. she's otherwise in perfect health, happy, bouncy, not off her food or anything.

Anybody had anything similar with their dog?

JJ.

Okay. I have had my cat for about 8 years. In that entire time, we have never gotten a new cat, so "litter"ally, shes the Queen of the House. My Family and I are interested in getting two kittens, but since my current cat is so used to being the only cat around, she hates other cats in her house. Are there any steps you can build or things you can do so she might be slightly more comfortable with other felines in the house? Answer ASAP.

When I bought my female Siberian Husky, the breeder told me that pure white huskies were rare. Four years later, my female had 2 pure whites in her first litter and now I am being told that yes they are rare and then no they are not rare. I am debating on which puppy that I want to keep, and dont want to sell both of the white ones if indeed this is a rare color. Please give me good advice!

Hi,

My cat always backs up to me and stands with its back paws on my feet when it wants a stroke. I understand that cats take social vocabulary like needing and purring from their kitten-hood. And I also realise that I have encouraged this behaviour with attention. But I just don’t see where she got the idea from in the first place?

Any ideas?

I just treated my pond because of the excess algae, all the debris from this has fallen to the bottom of the pond, and the filters aren't getting rid of it. Is there something like a hoover I can use to suck it up?

people would not go to the doctor for the same problems that you are saying, take your dog to the vet for.
