What are the pros and cons of having a ferret as a pet?

I have two ferrets and they're great. Their scent glands should be removed when they are babies(it may be done before you purchase one). You will need to bathe it occasionally, and wash it's bedding and keep it's cage clean regularly, just as you would for a bunny or guinea pig. You can teach them to use a litter box, and they can learn their names and a few tricks. They are very smart and social creatures, so you need to consider that you'll have to spend time with it every day, or get two if you are away alot. They are notorious for stealing things and hiding them (mine ripped a hole in the lining of my couch to hide stuff), so be careful where you leave your car keys, cell phone, socks...

I've had a ferret and loved it as a pet. they are very active and need to play a lot. they should have free reign of the house like a cat. they bite to greet but its not hard. they do smell because they are related to the skunk but you can bathe them and the smell is not that bad not at all like the skunk especially if you have one with the scent glands removed (buy it at a pet shop). you should go for it and try it if you think you can stay committed.

cons: Ferrets are from the same family of skunks so they stink.
You cant really take them for a walk like you would a dog.
They can get into basically anything because of their size
